GREENSBORO, N.C. – After sweeping the three-game series against conference opponent Virginia last weekend, senior Brittany Osmon was honored with her second straight ACC Player of the Week award as announced on Monday, March 17.
Osmon had an outstanding weekend in Charlottesville against the Cavaliers, going 5-for-10 overall. One of those hits was her fifth home run of the season in Saturday’s 5-1 win, which moves her to the top of the ACC.
Osmon recorded six RBIs and scored five runs for the Seminoles during the two-day series. Her .393 batting average, 25 RBIs and 55 total bases tops the ACC, and she is currently in the top five of nearly every other offensive category.
For Osmon, this is not only the second consecutive weekly ACC honor she has received, but also her second overall as a Seminole.
With 30 games under their belt, the Seminoles are now 21-9 overall and 4-2 in the ACC as they head into a doubleheader with Lipscomb on Tuesday, March 18. Following that series, Florida State will travel to Fullerton, Calif., for the Judi Garman Classic to match-up with some of the top teams in the nation.
