Pak Collects More National Accolades

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Men’s Golfer John Pak has provided a clean sweep of collegiate golf first team All-America honors, being named a Golfweek First Team All-American. Last month, Pak was named a PING! First Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Pak, who hails from Scotch Plains, N.J., is just the third Seminole to collect both first team All-America honors in the same season. The others including PGA Tour professionals Daniel Berger (2013) and Jonas Blixt (2008).

The single-year scoring average record holder at Florida State was also named to the 24-member All-Nicklaus Team on Monday by the GCAA. Players from Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA were recognized for their outstanding play during the 2018-19 collegiate season.

Pak and Clemson’s Bryson Nimmer were the ACC representatives on the All-Nicklaus Team.

The rising junior put together the best single-year performance in program history, ranking as a Top-10 golfer nationally by both Golfstat (10th) and Golfweek (ninth). He won four of his 11 events played this past year, including seven Top-5 finishes and eight Top-10s.

Through two full seasons, Pak is currently the school’s all-time leader in scoring average at 70.04. His five career wins, four of which came this past year, rank second on the FSU charts behind only Nolan Henke (eight wins from 1983-87).
