Pak Makes All-ACC Men’s Golf Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Sophomore John Pak of Florida State Men’s Golf picked up another accolade, earning his second selection is as many years to the All-ACC Team as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.

Pak follows his ACC Freshman of the Year honor in 2018 with a consecutive bid among the conference’s best golfers. The Scotch Plains, N.J., native put the league on notice in many ways this year, none more than winning the ACC Championship when he shot a 13-under 203 from April 18-20. It was the first ACC title by a Seminole since Jonas Blixt in 2007.

Pak Makes All-ACC Men’s Golf Team

Pak, who is on the Haskins Watch List and is the reigning ACC Golfer of the Month, joins exclusive company with his All-ACC Team selection. He is just the third Seminole to make the All-ACC Team in each of his first two years, joining Hank Lebioda (2012-16) and Jack Maguire (2013-15).

Following the average ranking between Golfstat (11) and Golfweek (7), Pak was one of the highest-ranked golfers in the ACC and continues to be a Top 10 golfer nationally. Clemson senior Bryson Nimmer was named the ACC Golfer of the Year, although Pak holds his name atop a list that includes mainly seniors and juniors.

Eugenio Charcarra of Wake Forest was named the ACC Freshman of the Year, while Georgia Tech’s Bruce Heppler was named the ACC Coach of the Year.

Among Pak’s most impressive stats this year are his 134 birdies, which rank fourth in the country. Pak also ranks in the Top 10 nationwide in par 5 scoring (sixth – 4.46), last-round average (sixth – 69.10) and his low round of 62 in the year-opening Rod Myers Invitational is the ninth lowest.

Pak will lead fifth-seeded Florida State into the Coastal Carolina NCAA Regional held at TPC Myrtle Beach on May 13-15.
