Tulsa, Okla. – Redshirt seniors Lucas Poullain and Jose Gracia earned two wins in the doubles consolation bracket of the ITA All-American Championships, including a consolation finals win against No. 29 Christopher Kougoucheff and Parker Wynn of Louisville.
“It is very exciting to see them win two rounds and the consolation championship today,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist.
Poullain and Gracia defeated Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge of Wisconsin 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals. The Seminole duo brought their momentum into the finals as they dominated the No. 29 pair in the country from Louisville 6-3, 6-1.
“Winning four matches in All-Americans puts them in elite company, and I am very proud of what they were able to do,” said Hultquist.
With the win Poullain and Gracia have earned an automatic bid into the 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships in Indian Wells, Calif. that will be held from Nov. 1-5.
