Florida State Athletics announced Thursday the creation of a designated area inside Doak Campbell Stadium that will offer concessions, including purchasing beer, at this year’s annual Garnet and Gold Spring Football Game April 6th. The area, which will be open to football season ticket holders and Seminole Boosters only, will be located in the southwest corner of the stadium between Gates D and E and will open one hour prior to the 4:00 p.m. kickoff time.
“With the addition of the designated area for the spring game, we will offer season ticket holders and boosters unique concessions and a place to gather with fellow Seminole fans in a dedicated area,” said FSU’s Interim Athletics Director David Coburn.
“We will evaluate the success of the operation during the spring game and determine whether we will consider something like it for the 2019 football season and beyond. A host of universities are allowing fans increased concession options as a part of their game day experience in a limited capacity, and we have been pleased with the process we already have in place for our baseball and men’s and women’s basketball games.”
In postseason surveys, season ticket holders were asked about their game day experiences and what new amenities would further enhance their experience. A resounding number of ticket holders indicated they would like to have expanded beverage options inside the stadium. This option for the spring game is a result of that feedback.
Capacity for the new area will be limited based on space restrictions.
