TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Seth Proctor has been selected as the ACC Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week. It’s the first weekly honor for the senior from Orlando, Fla., who paved the way in the season-opening meet.

Proctor scored his first collegiate victory Friday, leading the Seminoles to a second-place team finish at the Covered Bridge Invitational at the State Farm Fields Course in Boone, N.C. He covered the 8k (4.9 mile) course in 25:29 and crossed the finish line 11 seconds in front of runner-up Paul Loeser of Wake Forest.

“Proctor picked right up where he left off at the end of track season,” said FSU coach Bob Braman. “He looked, really, really good. If we’re going to be a good team we’re going to need Seth to be very good.”

A small group of Seminoles will travel to Friday’s Auburn Tiger Invitational, while the balance of the team will continue to train in preparation for the Sept. 16 Clemson Invitational, which will serve as a preview for this year’s Atlantic Coast Conference championship course. The Seminoles are the defending ACC men’s and women’s champions.
