TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Men’s Golf freshman Brett Roberts was selected as a second-team Junior Rolex All-American, earning a spot on the exclusive list of the nation’s top amateur golfers for the second straight year.
Every year, 48 boys and 48 girls are selected for one of amateur golf’s most prestigious lists. Roberts recently won at the Golfweek Collegiate Series Sandestin Amateur when he shot at 14-under, getting off to a strong start in his Seminole career.
Roberts’ cousin, Taylor Roberts, is also a freshman golfer for the Seminole women and won the women’s portion of the tournament in Sandestin at 5-under.
The Coral Springs, Fla., native enters his first academic year at Florida State University with many accomplishments. He was a member of the 2019 USA Junior President’s Cup Team that defeated the International Team, 13-11, and tied for seventh at the Rolex Tournament of Champions.
On the USA Junior President’s Cup Team circuit, he was part of a key win on the foursomes in the first day.
According to the Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings, Roberts was the second-ranked golfer in the 2020 recruiting class.
A very talented newcomer class joins Roberts for the 2021 season, which also includes Gray Albright (Ocala, Fla.), Frederik Kjettrup (Aabybro, Denmark), James Tureskis (Naples, Fla.), graduate transfer Vincent Norrman (Stockholm, Sweden) and senior transfer Connor Futrell (Tallahassee, Fla.).
