Ruch And Mosley Lead Seminoles In Final Round Of Carpet Capital Men’s Golf Event

Sophomore Bradley Ruch and senior Rusty Mosley led the Florida State men’s golf team in the final round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate at the Farm Golf Course. Both Ruch and Mosley finished the event with final round scores of 79 as the Seminoles finished played in the final round of one of the most competitive and prestigious tournaments in college golf. Florida State finished in 18th place in the team standings.

No. 5 ranked Georgia led the event wire-to-wire to capture the team championship. The Bulldogs finished four-over par as a team in the final round but held on to defeat Wake Forest by two strokes and Georgia Tech by four strokes. Rhys Davis of East Tennessee State earned individual medalist honors as he defeated Luke List of Vanderbilt by one stroke.

Ruch (Louisville, Ky.) totaled a 79 in the third and final round to finish with a 231 total for the three-round tournament. He finished as the Seminoles’ top ranking golfer for the first time in five events this fall. Ruch carded his tournament best score of 75 in the second round and was the only Seminole to finish with all three scores in the 70’s. He finished the fall season with a 75.47 stroke average in five tournaments and was the only Seminole to play in all five of the team’s events during the fall season.

Mosley (Vidalia, Ga.) closed out the fall season with an identical third round score of 79. He carded two rounds of scores of 79during the event and finished the season with a stroke average of 76.17 strokes in four tournaments.

Freshman Song Jeon (Seoul, Korea) finished the event with a 235 total after tying his career-best score of 75 in the second round. He finished as the second highest ranking Seminole in the event to mark his highest finish among his teammates during his first season at Florida State. Joen finished as Florida State’s fourth highest ranking player at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate.

Senior Mark Sestilio (Punta Gorda, Fla.) and junior Jacob Davis (DeLand, Fla.) also competed in the event for the Seminoles.

Florida State begins its fall scheduled Feb. 5-6 as it plays in the Gator Invitational at the University of Florida.
