Tulsa, Okla. – While the rest of the Florida State women’s tennis team finishes competing in the Women’s Collegiate Classic in Malibu, Calif. Junior Emmanuelle Salas and freshmen Victoria Allen head to the 2019 ITA All-American Championships. The tournament runs from October 5-13 at the LaFortune Tennis Center and Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. on the University of Tulsa’s campus.
The Seminoles begin competition Oct. 7 with Salas and Allen competing in qualifying doubles and singles. The qualifying rounds will take place on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 7-8) while the main draw is slated for Wednesday through Sunday (Oct. 9-13). Players must win two rounds in qualifying singles and three rounds in qualifying doubles to advance to the main draw.
Emmanuelle Salas and Victoria Allen enter competition as a ranked doubles pair at No. 38 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Salas also earned a singles ranking of No. 57 in the 2019-20 preseason ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
The women’s singles championship is set to air live on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 13. The singles quarterfinalists, consolation finalists, plus the doubles semifinalists and consolation finalists will earn automatic entry into the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Calif. Nov. 6-10.
