TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Redshirt sophomore Kathryn Sandercock was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after throwing 9.1 shutout innings against No. 20 Duke this past weekend.
Sandercock has thrown 21 straight scoreless innings dating back to March 26 against Boston College. Friday’s complete seven-inning game against Duke was her fifth, seven-inning complete game this season.
The Florida State pitching staff combined to throw 38.1 consecutive innings without allowing a run before Sunday’s 4-3 win against the Blue Devils. Sandercock is leading the way for the FSU pitching staff with a 14-1 record and a 1.29 ERA.
Sandercock is FSU’s first conference player of the week this season and this honor is the first career ACC Pitcher of the Week honor of her career.
