Sandercock Named NFCA National Pitcher of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State pitcher, Kathryn Sandercock was named the NFCA National Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after going 4-0 last week.

The McLean, Va. native was lights out as she allowed only three-run in 21.2 innings of work for a 0.97 ERA. Sandercock totaled 21 strikeouts in six appearances as she recorded four wins and a save.

She was a part of the Seminoles’ combine no-hitter against No. 24 UCF. Sandercock tossed four perfect innings with four strikeouts against the Knights in just 44 total pitches.

Florida State Hosts Florida A&M For Midweek Game

The 10-0  and third-ranked Seminoles host Florida A&M on Wednesday at 6 pm for the first game of the week, This is the 121st meeting between the Seminoles and the Rattlers, FSU leads the series 113-7. The game will be broadcasted on ACCNX.

Florida State heads into the week coming off 10 straight wins, with the last five coming against ranked opponents

The Seminole pitching staff is still unbeaten with a perfect 10-0 record through the first two weeks of the season. They have combined for 68 strikeouts in 65 innings while holding the opponent to a .172 batting average. The Noles have a combined 1.08 ERA.

Team power has returned for the Seminoles as FSU has hit 11 home runs, three triples and 14 doubles in the first 10 games of the season.

Florida State is in the top-10 in the country in ERA (1.08) and batting average (.362). The Noles are one of just seven teams that are still unbeaten.
