TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Aiming to develop every aspect of the student-athlete, Florida State Soccer will be traveling to Europe this summer for an 11-day tour throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and France on May 5-15.
The Seminoles will also play three different matches during their time overseas, beginning with ADO Den Haag on May 8, Ghent on May 10 and Paris Saint-Germain on May 14.
“We are all really excited for the opportunity to take the team to Europe,” said FSU head coach Mark Krikorian. “Being able to visit three different countries and play three games against clubs in each of those countries will be a tremendous experience for everyone involved. We are looking forward to learning about all of the different cultures and doing some sightseeing as well. I especially want to thank all of our boosters and supporters that helped make the trip a reality.”
FSU Soccer will fly into Amsterdam on May 6 and will have some walking and bike tours of the local area before training at Olympic Stadium on May 7. Prior to their first game on May 8, the Noles will visit the Anne Frank House.
On May 9, they will travel to Antwerp and Brussels in Belgium, with a stop at Fort van Breendonk in the middle. The match on May 10 will be preceded by a sightseeing tour of Brussels and Ghent.
The team will head to France on May 11 and will visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the Latin Quarter in the evening. A sightseeing tour of Paris fills the morning of May 12, before ending the day at the Paris Saint-Germain men’s soccer match against Rennes.
Everyone will head to Versailles during the morning on May 13, before returning to Paris for a sunset experience at the Eiffel Tower. The final day in Paris involves a visit to the Louvre before the third match of the trip as the Seminoles take on Paris Saint-Germain. A long travel day on May 15 brings everyone back home safely to Tallahassee.
