Seminoles.com Q&A With Freshman All-American Brandon Warren

Feb. 1, 2007

Tallahassee, FL – Brandon Warren was one of the brightest stars of the 2006 freshman class. The tight end from Tennessee had 27 catches for 293 yards and a TD. He was named a third team freshman All-American and to the All-ACC freshman team by the Sporting News. He led all FSU tight ends in catches and was one of just three true freshmen to start at a skill position in 2006. Brandon took a break from his busy schedule to sit down with Seminoles.com.

Seminoles.com: What was it like going through the changes on the coaching staff?

Brandon: I was kind of lost through the process. You hear so many things and so much of it is just rumors. I was unsure of how this would all work out. I am very happy about the way it ended up. I think we have one of the best staffs in the country.

Seminoles.com: Were you as caught up in the process as the fans?

Brandon: I was caught up in it. I wanted to know who was going to be here. There was so much talk about different coaches coming here. Personally, I started doing my own research on all the coaches that were being mentioned to see what type of offense they ran. When it came down to it I liked what coach Fisher brought to the table. I think a lot of the players liked coach Fisher and are happy with the staff we have in place.

Seminoles.com: What has your interaction with coach Fisher been like so far?

Brandon: I have had a chance to be around him since I have been involved with hosting recruits. We are developing a good relationship. Hopefully we can continue to build on that.

Seminoles.com: It must be nice to have coach Lilly as your position coach again this year with all the other changes that took place.

Brandon: That is definitely going to help. A lot of the players will have a new voice in their ear this season and will have to get used to that. For me, I will have a familiar voice.

Seminoles.com: What do you think of your fellow tight end Caz Piurowski moving to the offensive line?

Brandon: I am not going to make the switch myself but I wasn’t surprised by the move. He already has the frame to be a first round draft pick one day. I think it was a good move for him and I wish him all the best.

Seminoles.com: How excited are you and the rest of the guys to get out on the practice field and start to see this offense at work?

Brandon: I can’t wait. We talk about it everyday. We are hungry. The season we had is not acceptable. We are going to fix that.
