Seminoles Compete In NCAA Tennis Tournament

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State tennis program boasts two players competing in the NCAA Singles Championships this week. The women’s tournament is being hosted by Stanford University. All matches will be played at the Taube Tennis Center. The men’s tournament is at Texas A & M University at the Texas A & M Tennis Center.

In first round action Dumitrescu fell to No. 5 seeded Agara Cioroch of the University of Georgia, 6-2, 6-2. This was the first time these two have met, as the Seminoles did not face the Bulldogs in the regular season.

Luscan defeated his first round opponent, Andrew Park of University of Southern California in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-3). He advances to the second round where he will play No. 6 seed Andy Leber of the University of Texas at Arlington. That match is Thursday at 1 p.m.

Xavier Luscan (FSU) def. Andrew Park (USC) 6-2, 3-6, 6-3
