Seminoles Complete First Day Of Competition At NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship

The Florida State men’s swimming and diving team completed the first day of competition at the 2002 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship Thursday in Athens, Ga. Junior Justin Betts swam in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 40th place with a time of 1:50.20. Freshman diver Louie Gagnet competed on the one-meter and scored 262.65 to finish 28th.

Competition will resume for the Seminoles on Friday as Betts competes in the 100-yard breaststroke and Gagnet competes on the three-meter.

Preliminary heats for the swimming events will begin at 11 a.m., while the diving prelims start at 1 p.m. Finals competition starts at 7 p.m.
