The Florida State women’s basketball team (14-12, 7-8 ACC) will host the No. 11-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels (20-5, 10-4 ACC) in the Tribe’s 2003-04 regular-season finale on Thursday, February 25th at 7 p.m. at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. FSU will recognize Seminole seniors Tasheika Allen, Lauren Bradley and Trinetta Moore prior to the game.
“We’re thrilled that we get to play our final ACC game at home for a lot of reasons but mostly for the fact that we get to play a Top 20 team on our home court with these seniors who have given so much to our program,” FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. “Carolina is a great team and it’s going to be a big challenge for us. I am sure it will be emotional in some ways, but I think the critical nature of the game will overshadow everything else which is the way it should be.”
Since falling 66-60 at North Carolina, FSU has won four of its last six games, including three home contests. The last time FSU defeated North Carolina in Tallahassee was back on February 9, 1996 when the Tribe took a 73-64 decision.
