Seminoles Face Stetson/Florida A&M On Saturday

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State women’s tennis team (3-1) takes the court this Saturday, February 17, at 11 am and 2:30 pm. The Seminoles host Stetson in the morning and then Florida A&M in the afternoon. The matches take place at Scott Speicher Tennis Center and are free to all.

First Serve – Stetson
Florida State will face in-state opponent Stetson for the second season in a row. The Seminoles won last year 6-1 and hold an overall record of 6-0 over the Hatters. The first match took place in 1983 with Florida State winning 7-2.

FSU vs. Atlantic Sun Conference
Stetson is the second team in the Atlantic Sun Conference that Florida State has faced this year. The Seminoles opened the season against Jacksonville which they won 6-1. FSU has an overall lead of 18-1 over all Atlantic Sun teams. The Seminoles are undefeated against Stetson and Jacksonville with the one loss coming against North Florida in 1988.

Second Serve – Florida A&M
The Seminoles lead the Rattlers 7-0 since 1982 with the last match played in 2006. Florida State has outscored their cross town foe 50-2. FSU went 6-1 in 2002 and 8-1 in 1988. Florida State looks to extend this record to 57-2.

FSU vs. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
Florida State has an over all record of 8-0 against MEAC schools. The only schools that FSU has played are Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman. The Seminoles hosted both schools in the fall at the Seminole Invitational.
