Seminoles Fall To Spartans, 3-0

East Lansing, Mich. – With a tournament record of 1-1 at the Spartan Invitational, the Florida State volleyball team fell 3-0 in its final match against Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 1. The Seminoles, who won the FSU Invitational last weekend, were unable to pull off a repeat this weekend to the Spartans who have gone undefeated in its home tournament for seven consecutive seasons.

The last meeting between these teams was on Sept. 6, 1986, at the UCF Classic when Michigan State defeated FSU in another 3-0 match.

Seminole stars of the evening were junior Mira Djuric (Belgrade, Serbia) and sophomore Brianna Barry (Winter Springs, Fla.) who was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Djuric posted eight kills and nine and a half points while Barry but six kills and seven points on the board for Florida State.

The Seminoles head to Gainesville, Fla., on Wednesday, Sept. 5, with a 3-2 record to take on in-state rival Florida.
