TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Back at home for four of the next five matches, the Seminoles continue ACC play this weekend as Florida State (16-6, 9-3 ACC) hosts Notre Dame (16-6, 9-3 ACC) and Louisville (15-7, 8-4 ACC) in matches on November 8 and 10. The Noles will play the Irish on Friday night at 6:30 p.m., and will take on the Cardinals on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
“It is going to be a pressure weekend against Notre Dame and Louisville, as both teams have been ranked or receiving votes for much of the season,” said FSU head coach Chris Poole. “We know that we are going to have to step up our game and really play to our potential to be successful. We’ve had a full week of practice and are looking forward to the challenges this weekend.”
Florida State is 10-4 all-time against Notre Dame, including an 8-2 mark against the Irish since they joined the ACC in 2013. The Seminoles won each of the two meetings between the schools in 2018, a four-set victory on the road on November 2, and came back from an 0-2 deficit to win in five sets in Tallahassee on November 11 by the score of 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-9.
Sunday’s match against Louisville will be the 22nd meeting between the two teams, with Florida State holding a 14-7 advantage in the series. The Seminoles have won 12 of the last 15 matches in the series, dating back to 1985. FSU upset No. 24 Louisville on the road last year in four sets, 27-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23.
Both matches this weekend will be streamed on ACC Network Extra and links for the broadcast and live stats will be available on the volleyball schedule page on Seminoles.com.
