TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup continues to lead No. 12 Florida State Men’s Golf through two rounds at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational, as he is tied for ninth overall while FSU is 13th in the team standings at Olympia Fields Country Club.
None of the 15 teams in the tournament, with nearly everyone in the Top 25, is under par on the team leaderboard. FSU is 25-over through two rounds, shooting three strokes higher on Saturday at 294.
Kjettrup shot a 72 in the second round and is 1-over for the tournament, putting him five shots off the lead held by three players in David Puig of Arizona State (-4), Brian Stark of Oklahoma State (-4) and David Ford of North Carolina (-4).
Kjettrup recorded two birdies on Saturday, taking advantage of the 10th hole that is a par-4, 444-yard hole. He added another birdie on the par-5, 576-yard 15th hole. He will go for his second Top 10 finish as a Seminole on Sunday at 10:06 a.m. ET.
Senior Dan Bradbury carded a 73 for the second consecutive round and is 6-over for the tournament, which is tied for 37th. He recorded three birdies on the back nine, ending his round with one on the long 18th, par-4, 496-yard hole.
Senior Michael Sakane is 8-over through two rounds, followed by Cole Anderson (+10) and Brett Roberts (+12).
North Carolina (+1) leads the tournament, while Arizona State (+4), Oklahoma State (+8), Indiana (+11) and Alabama (+13) remain in the Top 5.
Roberts leads FSU off the tee on Sunday in the final round when he begins at 9:30 a.m. ET.
