Florida State’s Tim Pickett, one of the top players in the Atlantic Coast Conference, is featured in the March 1 issue of ESPN The Magazine in a feature story written by Keiran Darcy. Pickett’s two-year surge in play on the court which has helped the Seminoles become one of the top teams is the ACC is chronicled in the college basketball section of the magazine.
Writes Darcy: “Tim Pickett grew up so close to Daytona International Speedway, he could hear the roar of the race cars in his backyard. Annoying? Not to this gearhead: “I enjoy high speeds.”
Pickett is featured in the magazine covered by swimming sensation Michael Phelps which is available on newsstands now.
Pickett is Florida State’s all-time leader in both free throw percentage (.839) and steals per game (2.64) and ranks third in school history in 3-point field goals made during his career (169). He is also biding to become only the 37th player in school history to score 1,000 or more career points and enters Wednesday’s game against Wake Forest with 926 career points in 56 career games. Pickett needs only 74 points to reach the 1,000 points scored plateau.
