Seminoles’ Relay Advances at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, PA – The No. 21 Florida State women’s track and field team competed against many of the nation’s best track and field programs at the 2004 Penn Relays on the second day of the multi-day event, on Thursday, April 22, 2004.

The women’s 4x400m relay team of freshman Dana Massiah (Trinidad & Tobago/Bishop Aenesty), sophomore LaKendra McColumn (Lithonia, GA/Southwest Dekalb), sophomore Kim Adams (Stone Mountain, GA/Stone Mountain) and senior Tamara Campbell (Orlando, FL/Evans) finished third in 3:40.44, qualifying for the college finals on tomorrow at 5:20 p.m. The time is the third fastest run by the Seminoles this season.

Prior to running in the 4x400m, Campbell joined senior Vicky Gill (Lancashire, England/St. Andrews), senior Helen Hofstede (Hoogharspel, Netherlands/RSG Enhhuizen) and junior Natalie Hughes (Grand Junction, CO/Palisades) in the championship distance medley relay. The group finished in a time of 11:19.29.

The Seminoles continue competing beginning tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with the field events.
