Seminoles Take On Cavaliers In Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The Florida State softball team is set to take on Virginia in its second round of Atlantic Coast Conference play March 14 and 15 in Charlottesville, Va. The Seminoles are on a seven-game winning streak and currently lead the all-time series with the Cavaliers, 56-15, coming into the 2008 season.

The Seminoles are 12-6 against the Cavaliers when playing in Virginia and have won four out of the last five meetings. Virginia enters the weekend 7-13, after splitting a doubleheader with James Madison on March 12.

Florida State won the tournament crown at its own FSU Invitational over the weekend, going 4-0 against Connecticut, Appalachian State and Georgia State, before sweeping a doubleheader with the UConn Huskies on March 11.

The teams will meet in a doubleheader on Friday, March 14, with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m. FSU will close the weekend with one game on Saturday before heading back to Tallahassee.
