Seminoles Take Practice Inside Doak Campbell Stadium On Friday

Dec. 21, 2007

Tallahassee, Fla.The Seminole football team practiced for 20 periods on Friday. The squad went in shells and for the first time since the regular season ended, they practiced inside Doak Campbell Stadium. Tomorrow morning FSU will hold one more practice before the team heads home for the holidays. The Seminoles will hold two more practices in Tallahassee after the break and before they depart for Nashville.

Coach Bobby Bowden

On today’s practice:

“We practiced good today and practices have been good.  I think we’ve gotten everything we could out of it.  We’ll practice again tomorrow and then give them off until Christmas, and then they’ll come back the day after and pick it back up.”

On whether there’s any concern with the loss of players from injury, etc:

“There definitely would be.  You have 22 positions out there and some you’d be more concerned about than others.  The main concern is to not get any more injuries.”

Everette Brown

On Kentucky‘s offense:

“Well it’s definitely going to be a big challenge going up there.  [Kentucky‘s QB] was up for the Heisman earlier this year so you can’t take that from him.  He’s a great quarterback.  As a defense, we need to get pressure there and be in his face every time he throws the ball and try to get some sacks.  He is their offense, he makes the offense run. If we can get him out of his game we can get their offense out of sync and that would be easier on our defense.”

On the challenge of playing slightly short-handed against Kentucky:

“It’s more of a mental thing then anything else.  Just getting out there and wanting to do it; giving 110% every play.”

On going home for the Holidays:

“Yeah it’s always good to go home. Especially me, I’m a very family-oriented person so it’s always good for me to go home and be with family for a couple of days and then they’ll be up in Nashville for the game.”
