Seminoles Travel To USF Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 16 Florida State men’s golf team travels to the USF Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla. The three-day tournament begins Sunday, March 3 and concludes on Tuesday. The Seminoles tee off tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

“Each player is excited to compete tomorrow,” said head coach Trey Jones. “Coming off a win, each player is playing with confidence right now. Our goals and objectives are to continue to improve. We are scheduled to have a cold windy day tomorrow so that will take some discipline and toughness. I am looking forward to seeing how we handle some adversity tomorrow.”

The Seminoles are traveling No. 13 sophomore Daniel Berger, seniors Chase Seiffert and Doug Letson and freshmen Rowin Caron and Hank Lebioda. Freshmen Collin Engelhardt is playing as an individual.

The Seminoles are coming off of their first win this season after winning the Gator Invitational. Berger is coming off his best finish at Florida State by winning the Gator Invitational. Letson is playing in his fifth tournament of the year and had his best collegiate finish with third place in Gainesville. Seiffert is also in his last season and finished tied for third at the Inverness Intercollegiate this fall.

Caron recently finished at the Jones Cup where the freshman finished tied for fourth. Lebioda had his best tournament at the Gator Invitational where he finished tied for 12th. Engelhardt had his best finish of the season finishing 20th at the Inverness Intercollegiate.

The Seminoles are part of a 17-team field with Cincinnati, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marquette, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina State, Rice, South Carolina, South Florida, Troy, Virginia and Wisconsin.
