Shane Robinson Named ACC Player Of The Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala — Florida State centerfielder Shane Robinson earned honors as the ACC Player of the Year from Robinson, Bryan Henry and Tyler Chambliss were all named first team All-ACC and senior reliever Kevin Lynch picked up second team honors. Miami pitcher Cesar Carrillo earned Pitcher of the Year honors while Georgia Tech hitter/pitcher Matt Wieters earned Freshman of the Year honors. Coach of the Year honors went to Clemson’s Jack Leggett.

Robinson leads the ACC in batting with a .443 average. He was the sparkplug of the Seminole offense nabbing 43 stolen bases. The outfielder leads FSU in nine major offensive categories including batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, doubles and steals. He was the first player in America to record 100 hits this season and he is the first FSU player ever to record 100 hits and 40 steals in a season.

Carrillo finished his regular season with a 12-1 record and a 2.27 ERA.
Carrillo lost his final start of the regular season halting his consecutive decisions won streak at 24, fourth-best all-time in NCAA history. It was also the first loss the Hurricanes experienced in the 35 times Carrillo has pitched at Miami.
