TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The awards keep coming this week for the Florida State softball team as CoSIDA (Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America) announced junior Carly Wynn earned third team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America® honors on Wednesday, May 27.

“This is a really special award,” Wynn said. “I think it’s great that academics are recognized among student-athletes. It’s also a tribute to the entire team because we motivate each other to succeed. Without this team working hard all season to achieve our goals, this award would not have been possible for me.”

Wynn, a psychology major, maintained a 3.77 cumulative GPA in the classroom while leading her team with a .337 batting average on the field. She also topped the Noles this season with five triples which ranked her 17th in the nation, 68 hits and 43 runs.

The second year team captain was also awarded second team All-ACC honors as well as a spot on the ACC All-Tournament team.

Wynn becomes the first Academic All-America® member for Florida State since Natasha Jacob earned first team accolades in 2006.
