Led FSU and tied for the ACC lead with eight wins, finishing 8-4 with a 3.97 earned run average and 97 strikeouts over 81.2 innings pitched…started 15 of his 16 appearances after entering in relief of the season opener against Xavier (2/16)…finished 2018 with a 97-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio…started the ACC Championship Game for the second straight season…struck out a career-high 12 batters in just 6.0 innings at Jacksonville (2/27)…also had double-digit strikeout games against UCF (10, 3/20) and Mount St. Mary’s (10, 5/12)…allowed just two earned runs and struck out seven in FSU’s 6-3 win against No. 4 NC State…FSU’s mid-week starter for the first half of the season before joining the rotation against Boston College (4/22)…had two complete games, against Florida (3/27) and Mount St. Mary’s (5/12)…one of just four Seminoles with two complete games in a season over the past 15 years (Tyler Holton 2017, Luke Weaver 2014, Sean Gilmartin 2009)…combined with Jonah Scolaro to strike out 16 Jacksonville batters (2/27) without allowing a walk…drafted in the sixth round by Washington and signed with the Nationals in mid-June.


Started 12 games in his 2017 campaign and appeared in 18…ended the season with a 4.48 ERA and 70 strikeouts through 66.1 innings…pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings against VCU on February 17 in his first outing of the season…impressed over seven innings against USF on February 21 in his third career start in which he struck out a career-high nine batters and allowed just three hits before retiring the final 12 batters he faced…pitched seven strong innings on March 14 against Florida in Gainesville where he walked none and struck out a career-high 11 batters before the Seminoles ultimately fell 1-0…earned his first win of the season and tied a career-high seven innings pitched on May 6 against Pacific when he surrendered one run and struck out eight…pitched a perfect ninth inning in the final Super Regional game against Sam Houston State, allowing the Seminoles to reach the College World Series for the first time since 2012…hurled the longest relief appearance of his career in the College World Series against LSU with 5.1 scoreless innings pitched and recorded seven strikeouts.


Started two games for the Seminoles and appeared in nine for the season…struck out eight batters over 14.1 innings and ended the season with an ERA of 6.91…completed the longest outing of his season on April 20 against Stetson, where he went five innings, only allowing one run and throwing 66 pitches…played summer ball for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League where he went 1-3 with a 3.98 ERA in six starts and accomplished a 22/4 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Graduated from West Orange High School in Winter Garden…four-year varsity letterman…was a First Team All-Region Perfect Game selection as a senior and First Team Underclass All-American as a junior.. Third Team Preseason All-American from Perfect Game going into senior season…named the West Orange Team MVP as a senior and Team Cy Young winner as a junior…was a selection for the Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Game as a senior…combined for a 9-3 record over 97 innings his last two years with the Warriors…finished with 1.17 ERA with 56 strikeouts as a junior and 1.41 ERA with 65 strikeouts as a senior…was a four-year member of the Principal’s Honor Roll and graduated in the top three percent academically in a class of over 850 students.


Son of Dan and Leslie Karp…has one younger sister, Katie…father played baseball at LSU in the early 1980s…earned his BS in finance in summer 2017 and is working toward a Master of Science in Finance…born on September 30, 1995.
