Made a team-high 36 appearances, all in relief, for the Seminoles during his junior season…compiled a 7-1 record with one save and a 4.29 ERA…tied for the team lead in wins…finished with 76 strikeouts in 56.2 innings of work while holding opponents to a .246 batting average…posted a 12.1 strikeout per 9 innings…registered multiple innings in relief in 23 of his 36 appearances…threw a career-high 4.0 innings to shut the door against Florida at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville in earning his first career save…recorded a career-high five strikeouts twice – vs. UCF (3/10) and vs. Florida (3/31) in Jacksonville…faced the minimum in working 2.2 scoreless innings in relief against the Gators (4/14) at home…combined to throw 4.0 scoreless innings at Louisville (5/8 & 5/10) in two relief appearances…threw in three of FSU’s four games during a run to a sixth ACC title…allowed just one run on two hits in 3.1 combined innings of work with seven strikeouts during the ACC Tournament…earned wins against Jacksonville (2/24), UNC Wilmington (2/28), at Virginia (3/20), Alabama State (3/25), Virginia Tech (3/28), Stetson (4/21) and College of Charleston (5/30) in the NCAA Tournament…made relief appearances in eight of FSU’s last 10 games including all three games of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.


Went 4-0 with a 1.90 ERA in 17 appearances that included his first career start…ended his sophomore season with a 2:1 strikeout to walk ratio (28:14)…opened the season throwing scoreless innings in relief against Niagara (2/16) and Georgia (2/22)…picked up his first win of the year at UCF (3/11), throwing 1.1 shutout innings in an 11-10 FSU victory…allowed a run in 1.1 innings against No. 5 NC State (3/15)…had the best outing of his career against Florida Gulf Coast (4/11), throwing a career-high 3.2 innings and striking out a career-high four batters…held FGCU off the board as the ‘Noles rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win 8-3…worked 2.0 innings against Notre Dame (4/6), allowing a run on two hits while striking out three…picked up his second win at Georgia Tech (4/13), going 1.1 shutout innings as the Seminoles rallied for the 5-4 victory…earned win number three 10 days later against Stetson (4/23), striking out three batters in 1.2 innings of work…final win of the year came against Minnesota (5/4), his fourth of the year, as he worked 3.0 shutout innings in relief allowing just one hit…made the first career start at North Carolina (5/11) and worked 1.2 innings allowing two earned runs on two hits as he walked two and struck out a pair…picked up the first save of his career against Duke (5/16) as he threw two pitches for one out as the ‘Noles held off a furious Blue Devil rally to win 9-8…pitched at least 1.0 inning in 12 of his 17 appearances…after making seven appearances as a freshman, allowed zero earned runs in 19 of 24 career appearances…spent the summer playing in the Cape Cod League with the Brewster Whitecaps and in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the North Adams SteepleCates.


Made seven relief appearances on the season…finished with a 0-0 record and a team-best 0.82 ERA in 11.0 innings…collegiate debut came against Jacksonville (2/20)…recorded a scoreless inning against Stetson (3/20) and registered his first strikeout…pitched 3.0 innings without giving up a hit or a run against Georgia Tech (3/22)…allowed his only earned run of the season at Virginia (4/20)…tossed a career-high 3.2 scoreless innings to finish the game against Clemson (5/16)…limited opposing batters to a .108 average – including a .077 average when facing hitter with two outs…played over the summer with Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Baseball League.


An Under Armour Preseason All-American and All-State recipient as a senior at American Heritage High School…struck out 42 batters last season in 2012…was named to the 2012 5A-4A-3A-2A second team his senior year…was an honor roll student.


Son of Joseph Silva and Adriana Velez…has one sister, Danielle…majoring in criminology…born on December 27, 1993…signed a professional contract with the Seattle Mariners in the summer of 2015.
