SENIOR (2016):

One of two players (Taylor Walls) to start all 63 games on the season…posted a career-high .370 batting average while collecting a team- and ACC-high 95 hits, a team-high 65 RBI, and 58 runs scored in a career-high 257 at-bats…also led the ACC in doubles (26) and total bases (148)…his 26 doubles ranked fourth nationally, while his 95 hits ranked 11th…his 14 hit-by-pitches on the season brings him up to most all-time in Florida State history with a career total of 65 hit-by-pitches…finished the season with a team-high 31 multi-hit games…began his season on Opening Day by going 3-for-5 with two singles and a double while scoring two runs in the Seminoles’ 19-1 win over Rhode Island…smacked his second career grand slam in FSU’s 8-1 win over Rhode Island on February 20…reached base safely in 25 consecutive games, spanning from May 10, 2015 to March 8, 2016…became an individual leader in the series against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from March 11-13 after posting a .615 batting average, going 8-for-13 and hitting both a double and a home run…established a new single-game career-high in RBI with five against Pittsburgh on March 18 in the Seminoles’ 17-4 win…named ACC Player of the Week on April 11 after leading the Seminoles to three wins, including a series victory over No. 4 Louisville, when he batted .500 with 10 hits, 10 RBI, 17 total bases, and a slugging percentage of .850 over the five games played that week…winner of the 2016 Golden Nole Award given by the FSU Department of Athletics…collected three RBI including a home run on May 8 to help complete the sweep of Bowling Green with the 6-1 victory…hit a career-high three doubles in a single game on May 15 to help bring the Noles to a 4-3 victory over ACC-rival Duke…garnered the first All-ACC honor of his career on May 23 when he was named to the 2016 All-ACC First Team…named as a Third Team All-American by Louisville Slugger on June 2, becoming one of only 11 ACC players to be named to a team…became the first Seminole to be drafted in the 2016 MLB Draft when he was selected in the eighth round (228 overall) by the Cincinnati Reds…capped off his Florida State career with 244 hits, 192 runs scored, 174 RBI, a career average of .273, a career on-base percentage of .397, and 894 at-bats…tied for fourth all-time in FSU history in doubles with 65.

JUNIOR (2015):

One of only two Seminole players (Taylor Walls) to start all 65 games in 2015…started every game at second base and has started in 162 consecutive games dating back to his freshman year in 2013…posted single-season career-highs in batting average (.245), runs (60), hits (60), doubles (15), home runs (8), walks (35) and hit by pitches (20)…ranked second in the ACC and 11th nationally in hit-by-pitches…averaged 0.36 HBPs per game – good for 36th nationally…also ranked in the top 10 in the ACC in run scored (t-5th) and runs per game (0.92, 8th)…led the team in HBPs for the second year in a row, tied for the team lead in doubles, second in runs, tied for third in home runs and fourth in hits…finished with 20 hit-by-pitches – tied for the third most in a single-season…sits second all-time in the school record books with 51 career HBPs…doubled his career home run total during his junior season connecting on eight in 2015 including a grand slam at Virginia (March 21)…connected on a three-run home run in the third inning against NC State (May 24) in the ACC Championship Game to lead the Noles to their sixth league title…tallied a career-high four hits in a 4-1 win over Florida at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville…tied for fourth on the team with 15 multi-hit games…posted the longest hitting streak on the team at 10 games in 2015 – the only Seminole to register a double-digit hitting streak on the year…drew a career-high four walks against UNC Wilmington (March 1)…tied a career-high with three four-RBI games – at Georgia (February 20), USF (March 3) and at Virginia (March 21)…collected three hits including a two-run double in the first game of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional against Mercer (May 29)…posted a perfect fielding percentage in seven chances en route to earning Tallahassee All-Region accolades…played summer ball with the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League…hit .321 over the summer with 10 doubles and five home runs…was the bright spot during the playoffs with St. Cloud hitting .529 (10-for-19) with a home run and six RBI.


Started all 60 games at second base – the second consecutive season he has reached the 60 games mark at the position – and one of just two Seminoles to start every game in 2014…finished his sophomore season with a .221 batting average, 13 doubles, two home runs and 29 walks…scored 38 runs and tied for 15th in the ACC with 39 RBI…ranked fourth in the conference with 18 hit by pitches and will enter his junior season with 31 career HBP, tied for the eighth most all-time in Florida State history…the 18 HBP sit as the fourth most in a single-season at FSU…played his best ball against eventual national runner-up Virginia (April 24-27/May 24), going 5-for-13 with three runs scored, seven RBI, a home run, two sac flies and a hit by pitch in four games against the Cavaliers…had four RBI against Virginia (April 26), a season-high while tying a career-high…went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI at Stetson (May 6)…collected three more hits and two more RBI against the Hatters on the road (April 23) – the three hits tied a season- and career-high…in three games against Notre Dame (April 4-6), hit .333 (3-for-9) with two runs, two RBI, and five walks, including three in the opener which tied a career-high…in three games at Clemson, went .500 at the plate (5-for-10) with two doubles, three RBI and a walk…in two games at UCF, went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs (all in one game, setting a season-high), three RBI, a walk, and was hit by three pitches…hit his first home run of the year at Jacksonville (Feb. 18) to go along with a single and double, three RBI and two runs scored…finished the season with nine multi-hit and nine multi-RBI games…played in the Cape Cod League over the summer with the Brewster Whitecaps.

FRESHMAN (2013):

Appeared in 63 games, making 61 starts at second base during his freshman season…batted .233 (45-for-193) with 11 doubles and 36 runs scored…hit two home runs and drove in 32 RBI…led the team with 13 hit-by-pitches – with two HBPs coming in games at Maryland (March 17) and against UCF (May 4)…opened the season reaching base in 14 straight games…reached base in six of seven plate appearances and scored four runs against Villanova (March 2) by way of three walks, two hits and a hit-by-pitch…was a perfect 2-for-2 from the plate with two walks while crushing his first collegiate home run – a two-run shot – against Florida Gulf Coast (April 2)…set a career-high in hits (3), including one each in the eighth and ninth innings, as FSU came from behind to beat Miami (April 5)…had three more three-hit games on the season – Duke (April 12), at Jacksonville (April 23) and Wake Forest (April 28)…blasted his second home run of the season in the second inning as FSU secured a 12-3 road win at NC State (May 12)…scored two runs and hit a double in the NCAA Regional championship game against Troy (June 2)…finished with 33 walks, which was tied for the fourth-best on the team – including seven multi-walk games…played over the summer with the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League helping lead the Mohawks to a league championship.


A four-year baseball and basketball varsity letter-winner and a one-year letter-winner in football at Neshannock High School…hit 22 career home runs…batted .661 as a junior and .597 (40-for-57) with 40 RBI, 34 runs scored, 12 doubles, six triples and seven home runs in his final year…earned All-State Pittsburgh Player of the Year honors as a senior…WPIAL Class A Player of the Year as a junior…member of section 3-A and WPIAL Class A championship teams…recipient of County Athlete of the Year accolades his senior year…garnered ESPN Rise Magazine honors…scored 915 career basketball points and earned All-Section honors…played quarterback and scored 10 touchdowns as a member of the football team.


Son of John and Mirella Sansone…has two twin sisters, Lina and Maria…goes by the nickname “Soni”…member of the 3.0 GPA Club at FSU (Fall 2012)…majoring in sport management…born on September 15, 1993.
