REDSHIRT SENIOR 2 (2021):

Wore jersey No. 11 in honor of former head coach Mike Martin…Martin’s jersey was retired on Opening Day but Haney wore throughout the season…team captain…made 31 relief appearances, finishing with a 5.96 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 25.2 innings pitched…became the FSU record holder for career pitching appearances with 138…tied with teammate Jonah Scolaro for 12th nationally in pitching appearances in 2021…won three games, notching victories at Virginia Tech (3/12), Florida (3/16) and Wake Forest (3/26) in March…earned a save in FSU’s first victory of the season, his second career save…NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List…in his record-tying 136th appearance out of the bullpen, against FGCU on May 12, threw 3.1 innings of one-run ball…just his fourth career appearance with at least 3.0 innings pitched…season-high three strikeouts against North Florida, Virginia Tch, Wake Forest and FGCU…one of just three seniors on the team, finished career with a 16-5 record and a 3.45 ERA, with 149 strikeouts in 141 innings pitched.

REDSHIRT SENIOR (2020):

Team captain ended the season 3-0 with a 1.29 earned run average over 14.0 innings pitched…led the NCAA with 12 pitching appearances…won the final game of the season for the Noles, pitching 2.1 innings without allowing a hit and striking out a career-high four against Illinois State…ranked 23rd nationally with three wins…for his career, has appeared in 107 games, the fifth-most relief appearances in FSU history…2.89 career ERA and 13-4 overall record…20 strikeouts in 2020, with just two walks allowed…made the preseason watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the nation’s top relief pitcher…struck out the side in the sixth inning against Niagara (February 16) and paired with Clayton Kwiatkowski to strike out the side against No. 12 Duke on March 8…earned wins against USF (2.1 IP, 3 K), Cincinnati (2.0 IP, 1 K) and Illinois State…opponents hit just .122 against the right-hander, the lowest BAA on the team.

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2019):

Returned from Tommy John surgery and made 31 appearances out of the bullpen…finished 2-2 with a save and a 2.41 earned run average…struck out 36 batters in 37.1 innings pitched and opponents hit an FSU-low .170 against…in five postseason appearances, allowed just one hit in 7.1 innings pitched without allowing a run…combined with Drew Parrish and Conor Grady for a no-hitter on Opening Day, the 10th no-no in FSU history…finished sixth in the ACC with 31 appearances…in the College World Series, did not allow a hit or run in 4.1 combined innings against Michigan and Texas Tech…did not allow an earned run in his final 14.1 innings pitched in 2019…earned the win in head coach Mike Martin’s 2,000th win, a 5-2 victory over Virginia Tech…had two plate appearances, singling in both opportunities.

JUNIOR (2018):

SOPHOMORE (2017):

Appeared in 33 games in the 2017 season and finished the year with 31.2 innings pitched, 26 strikeouts, and a 4.26 ERA…made his first relief appearance in the season opener when he entered in the seventh inning with two runners on and proceeded to record two quick outs to end the inning and a VCU threat…pitched one out in the seventh inning against Jacksonville on February 28, helping FSU claim a 6-5 victory and earning his first win of the season…picked up a season-high three strikeouts in his two innings pitched on March 24 at Notre Dame to end the game and earn the Seminoles an 8-2 win…earned his second win of the season on April 28 over Virginia when he came in to pitch a scoreless sixth inning…pitched a total of one scoreless inning throughout the ACC Tournament with just one hit allowed and two strikeouts against Notre Dame and Duke…recorded three outs in the close game against Sam Houston State in the Super Regionals, shutting down the offense and helping Florida State reach a 7-6 win…induced two Cal State Fullerton outs in his first career College World Series appearance in which FSU won 6-4.

FRESHMAN (2016):

Appeared in 31 games (the most amongst pitchers) and threw 32.1 innings and struck out 37 while working a 2.78 ERA…ended the season with a team-best 5-0 record…began his collegiate career on February 19 against Rhode Island where he put in an inning of work and struck out three…struck out a season-high four batters on March 8 against USF after pitching 2.0 innings and garnering his first collegiate career win…notched his second win of the season in a game against Georgia Tech on March 12 when he threw a season-high 3.2 innings without allowing a run and only surrendering one hit…named to the 2016 All-ACC Academic Team…placed on the ACC Academic Honor Roll for Student-Athletes…played summer ball for the Amsterdam Mohawks in the Perfect Game League where he finished the summer with 15 appearances, an ERA of 0.76, 38 strikeouts, and a pair of saves.

PERSONAL:

Graduated from Windermere Prep in Winter Garden…wrapped up his senior season with a .390 batting average…tossed 30 innings while recording 44 strikeouts, 10 saves and a 1-0 record in his senior season…named first team All-District as both a sophomore and senior…ended his prep career with two home runs…member of National Honors Society as well as Science Club and History Club…parents are Danny and Wendy Haney…has one sibling, John-Patrick…father played basketball at Eastern Kentucky (1976-79) and has coached high school basketball for the last 25 seasons…court at Lexington Catholic High in Lexington, Ky., named in Danny’s honor…earned his degree in commercial entrepreneurship and a Master’s in sport management…working towards a social science degree…born August 18, 1995.
