JUNIOR (2019):

Team captain…hit .308 with 69 hits, 12 doubles, two triples and 16 home runs…team-high 56 RBI and 60 runs scored…drew 70 walks, second-most in the country…walk-off RBI single vs. LSU in Baton Rouge Super Regional gave FSU a 5-4, 12-inning victory and sent FSU to the 23rd College World Series in school history…it was FSU’s first time advancing to the CWS in a road Super Regional in six chances…started all 65 games in 2019 and started the final 170 games of his career…16 home runs are the most for a Seminole since Mike McGee hit 17 in 2010…hit two home runs against Stetson (April 24) and FAU in the Athens Regional…made the All-Regional Team, hitting 7-for-15 with two home runs, three doubles and five RBI…hit .800 against Pitt to earn ACC Player of the Week honors for the only time in his career…finished second in the ACC with a .471 on-base percentage…also top 10 in ACC in home runs (5th), slugging percentage (10th, .594) and runs scored (10th)…70 walks are eighth most in FSU single-season history…finished career with 33 home runs and .300 batting average.

SOPHOMORE (2018):

Started all 62 games at third base, hitting .313 with seven home runs, 17 doubles, a triple, 44 RBI and 44 runs scored…drew 46 walks for a .440 on-base percentage…game-winning hit in the ACC Championship Game against Louisville, lacing a two-run double to give FSU a 10-8 lead in the 10th inning…earned a place on the ACC Championship team for the second straight year after hitting 5-for-12 with a home run, five RBI and six walks over four games…in two ACC title games, Mendoza is hitting 5-for-7 with 7 RBI, 3 runs and 4 walks…career-high five hits against Stetson (4/18)…also had four hits against Mount St. Mary’s (5/13) with a season-high five RBI…had a nine-game streak with at least one extra-base hit, the longest stretch in the country in 2018…16-game hitting streak was a career-long…two walk-off singles on consecutive weekends against Troy (2/24) and UNC Asheville (3/3)…had an RBI double against Samford in the NCAA regionals (6/1)…played his summer ball for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod League.

FRESHMAN (2017):

Started 43 games in the 2017 season, batting .270 with 33 RBI, 33 runs and 10 home runs, the most among FSU’s freshmen…made his season debut on March 31 after various injuries kept him sidelined for 26 games…collected his first RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly on April 1 against North Carolina when the Seminoles fell 5-2 in extra innings…switched from third to first base starting on April 4 against Florida Gulf Coast, a game in which he also picked up his first career hit with an infield single to first…earned his first multi-hit game on April 7 against NC State with three hits that came on two doubles and a single, as well as four RBI…smacked his first career home run on April 9 against NC State to cap off a 6-for-12 weekend that came with six RBI…hit two home runs and knocked in six runs on May 9 against Jacksonville, helping bring Florida State a 21-2 victory…was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team on May 23…slugged a pair of home runs on May 28 against North Carolina in the ACC Championship as FSU rallied to claim a 7-3 win…was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team on May 28…smacked a solo shot to right field on June 19 in the College World Series to push FSU’s lead to 3-1 over Cal State Fullerton…hit his second solo home run of the College World Series in the final game against LSU to cut into the Tigers’ 5-0 lead…named a Second Team Freshman All-American by Baseball America and D1Baseball.com…earned College World Series All-Tournament honors for his three-game performance…played summer ball for the Y-D Red Sox in the Cape Cod League where he collected 14 hits and eight RBI with a home run.
