Started 22 games in 26 appearances…hit .283 with 26 hits and four doubles…eight RBI, 17 runs scored, 21 walks…had FSU’s walk-off RBI against Georgia Southern…missed the first five weeks of the season with an injury before returning against Notre Dame…reached base safely in first 18 games of 2022.
Hit .280 with 54 hits in 193 at-bats, leading FSU in runs (54), walks (46), hit by pitches (14), stolen bases (6) and on-base percentage (.445)…finished second in the ACC in walks, third in runs, fourth in HBP and seventh in OBP…started 54 of FSU’s 55 games, with 52 coming at first base…had 16 multi-hit games, including a career-high five in the rubber match at No. 18 Virginia Tech on March 14…added a career-high four runs and two doubles in FSU’s 14-7 win…it was FSU’s first five-hit game since 2018 (Kyle Cavanaugh)…at No. 2 Notre Dame on May 8, was 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored as FSU won the series against the Fighting Irish…drew a career-high three walks three times…hit the first two home runs of his career, the first in a 6-5 win over UCF on March 24 when he went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and the second a grand slam against Boston College on April 16…had a hit and scored a run in FSU’s final two games of the year in the Oxford Regional…had three total hits in his first ACC Tournament against Duke and Miami…prior to the season, had never played first base.
Hit .310 over 58 at-bats, with 18 hits, 17 runs scored, 16 walks drawn and 13 RBI…was hit by four pitches and reached base at a .481 clip…second on the team in batting average and on-base percentage…appeared in all 17 games, with 15 starts (9 at DH, 6 at third base)…hit five doubles and had one of FSU’s two triples on the season…lined a one-out RBI single in the 11th inning against Mercer for FSU’s 9-8, walk-off win…scored at least one run in 14 different games, including three against FAU on February 29…went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double, triple and two walks drawn, with his only stolen base of the season, against the Owls…had a season-high three hits against Cincinnati on February 22 and vs. No. 3 Texas Tech on February 29…had multiple-RBI games against Niagara (twice), FAU and Mercer…tallied FSU’s first hit and scored the Noles first run of the season on Opening Day against Niagara…season-high three walks vs. Cincinnati on February 23…ranked 22nd nationally with 16 walks drawn.
Graduated from Chiles High School in Tallahassee…earned A/B honor roll as a freshman and sophomore and was on the A honor roll as a junior…enrolled at Florida State in January 2020 to add depth in the Seminole infield…hit .330 with 30 walks and just four strikeouts as a sophomore…hit .470 with 27 hits and 12 doubles as a junior…parents are Mike Martin, Jr. and Litzie Martin…grandfather is longtime FSU head baseball coach Mike Martin…brother T.J….majoring in criminology…born on December 10, 2001.
