JEFF PETERSON

The only player in the history of college basketball to play in the ACC (Florida State), the Big Ten (Iowa) and the SEC (Arkansas) during his career…played two years at Iowa, transferred to play at Arkansas, graduated from Arkansas and transferred and played his final season of eligibility as a graduate student at Florida State…transferred to Florida State to study marketing as a graduate major (it is not offered as a graduate major at Arkansas) and earned his Master’s Degree in Marketing in August of 2012…Peterson utilized the NCAA rule allowing players who have finished their undergraduate requirements and graduated at one school to transfer to another school and pursue a master’s degree… Peterson earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing with a 3.4 grade point average from Arkansas’ Walton College of Business in May of 2011…part of a select group of players who transferred to become immediately eligible after graduating including Justin Knox (to North Carolina from Alabama) and John Fields (to Tennessee from UNC Wilmington) Brandon Wood (to Michigan State from Valparaiso) and Andre Walker (to Xavier from Vanderbilt)…played in his career high of 34 games in 2012 in helping the Seminoles the first ACC Championship in school history, the program’s school-record fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, a 25-11 overall record, a school record tying 12-4 record in the ACC, a third place finish in the ACC standings and an ACC best six wins over nationally ranked teams including four over nationally ranked Duke (twice) and North Carolina (twice) teams in one of the most memorable seasons in school history…played in 117 career games (55 at Iowa, 28 at Arkansas and 34 at Florida State) while earning 50 career starts (26 at Iowa, 23 at Arkansas and one at Florida State)…played in nine wins over nationally ranked teams including three as a starting point guard at Arkansas and in six during his cone season at Florida State…the Seminoles led the ACC with six wins over ranked teams during the 2011-12 season… led Arkansas over No. 2/2 Kentucky in overtime on Feb. 23, 2011 with a seven point, two assist and zero turnover performance in the Razorbacks’ 77-76 win in Fayetteville…also four points and two assists in leading Arkansas over No. 21 Vanderbilt, 89-78, on Jan. 29, 2011 in Nashville…totaled two assists in 12 minutes of playing time in helping Iowa to a 43-36 win over No. 6 Michigan State on Jan. 12, 2008 in East Lansing…played in two wins over ranked North Carolina teams (No. 3 and No. 4), two wins over ranked Duke teams (No. 4 and No. 6) and two wins over ranked Virginia teams (No. 18 and No. 24) during his only season as a Seminole…played as a member of the East Coast All-Stars during the summer of 2010…the All-Stars were comprised of 10 collegiate players who played a five game tour of Europe prior to his season at Arkansas…he averaged eight points and nearly seven assists per game as the team played in Switzerland and France…scored 12 points and was credited with eight assists against the National Team of Tunisia during the tour of Europe…earned the Tip of the Spear Award along with his senior teammates as the Seminoles’ annual Honors Banquet in 2012…the Tip of the Spear Award has been presented annually by Hamilton and his staff to the player or players who exemplify the qualities of great teammates and who were outstanding student athletes during their careers.

Averaged 3.1 points (ninth on the team), 1.8 assists (third), and 0.6 steals (sixth) while playing in 34 of Florida State’s 35 games in helping the Seminoles to the first ACC Championship in school history and to the school record fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance…was the first time Peterson had played in the NCAA Tournament – in any post season tournament – and was the first conference championship at any of his three stops during his career…earned playing time in the postseason for the first time in his career with two assists and two rebounds in 10 minutes of play in helping the Seminoles to the 63-60 come from behind win over St. Bonaventure in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn…off to a quick start in his Seminole career with six points in his first game against Jacksonville (Nov. 11) and nine points in his second game against UCF (Nov. 14) for a 7.5 points per game average as helping Florida State to a quick 2-0 start…best scoring game of the season came in the Seminoles’ win over UCF with nine points on four of five shooting from the field (.800)…the Seminoles’ defeated the Knights, 73-50, in the second game of the season…also added seven points in the Seminoles’ ACC/Big Ten Challenge game at Michigan State (Nov. 30) and seven points at home in Florida State’s win over Loyola Marymount, 77-61, in Tallahassee (Dec. 18)…totaled five points against then No. 4 ranked UConn in the final game of the Inaugural Battle4Atlantis Tournament (Nov. 26) and five points as Florida State closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with an 85-56 win over Auburn in Tallahassee (Jan. 4)…totaled a season high seven assists in the Seminoles’ win over Stetson (Nov. 16) and six in their victory over Charleston Southern (Dec. 5) …added six more assists — his personal best for assists in an ACC game – at Wake Forest as the Seminoles won the ACC game on the road, 75-52…10 assists in his first three games as a Seminole – one against Jacksonville, two against UCF and seven against Stetson as he helped Florida State to three early wins and got his career in Tallahassee off to a strong start…14 assists in consecutive games against UConn (four), at Michigan State (four) and against Charleston Southern (six)…(vs. Boston College): Scored zero points but was credited with one rebound and one assist in the Seminoles only game of the season against Boston College…the Eagles stunned the nationally ranked Seminoles, 64-60, in Chestnut Hill (Feb. 8)…his assist on a Michael Snaer lay-up early in the first half gave the Seminoles a 6-5 advantage with 15:48 left before halftime…the basket helped the Seminoles build up as much as a 13-point first half lead before surrendering the lead at the game to stop their school record seven game ACC winning streak…(vs. Clemson): Averaged 3.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in two games against Clemson…tied for the Seminoles’ lead (with Luke Loucks) in the team games again the Tigers with seven assists…also tied for the team lead (with Bernard James) in steals with three as Florida State and Clemson split the regular season series with each team winning at home…totaled five points, four assists and three steals as Florida State opened its ACC season at Clemson…the Tigers won the non-conference opener for both teams, 79-59, in Clemson (Jan. 7)…all five points came in the first half as the Seminoles fought to keep up with the Tigers but trailed at halftime, 36-22…also added one blocked shot in the game…his four rebounds (tied), three steals and one blocked shot all rank as his ACC career highs…his blocked shot against the Tigers was his only block as a Seminole and one of only two blocked shot during his 114-game career…scored two points to go along with four rebounds and three assists in the only starting assignment of his Florida State career in the Seminoles’ 80-72 win over Clemson on Senior Day in Tallahassee…started in place of Michael Snaer in the final game of the season which saw Florida State close its regular season with a 21-9 overall record and a school record 12-4 record in ACC play…the 12 wins tied the school record for wins in an ACC season and earned Florida State a third place finish in the ACC standings…a first half jumper at the 4:57 mark gave Florida State a commanding 34-25 lead on its way to a 49-33 lead at the intermission…three assists in the final 3:28 of the first half led directly to seven points on a dunk by Bernard James (made the score 38-25 with 3:28 left before halftime), a lay-up by Ian Miller (made the score 43-31 with 1:37 left before halftime) and a half-ending 3-point shot by Ian Miller (made the score 49-33 at the buzzer) to give Florida State its largest lead of game…(vs. Duke): Averaged 2.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in three games against NCAA Tournament participant Duke…helped Florida State to two wins in three games against Duke including the second win in school history in Cameron Indoor Stadium and in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament which propelled the Seminoles into the championship game and to the first ACC championship with a victory over North Carolina…scored zero points but was credited with two assists and one rebound in Florida State’s 76-73 win over No. 4 ranked Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium (Jan. 21)…the Seminoles won the game on a buzzer beating 3-point shot by Michael Snaer to give the Seminoles the ACC road win and help improve their record to 4-1 in conference play…was Florida State’s fourth consecutive ACC win…one rebound and one assist in the first half allowed the Seminoles climb back into the game and trail by only 32-26 at halftime after trailing by as many as nine during the half…a first half assist on a 3-point shot by Okaro White tied the game at 12-12 with 11:39 left before intermission…a second half assist came on a 3-point shot by Ian Miller that tied the game at 50-50 with 11:25 left to play before Snaer’s heroics…the game saw eight ties and five lead changes with Snaer’s final basket winning the game and breaking the final tie of the game…totaled his ACC high of six points as the Seminoles played host to Duke in one of the biggest and most anticipated home games in the history of Florida State basketball…No. 6 ranked Duke rained 13 3-point shots on the Seminoles in the Blue Devils 74-66 win in Tallahassee (Feb. 23)…all six of his points to go along with both of his assists during the game came as Florida State clawed its way back into the game after trailing 39-32 at the half…accounted directly for 10 of the Seminoles’ 34 points during the second half…all six of his points and both of his assists came in the final 13 minutes of the game and helped Florida State outscore the Blue Devils, 23-21, to end the game…a lay-up at the 12:52 mark brought the Seminoles to within eight at 53-45…and second lay-up at the 9:27 mark closed the gap to seven at 55-48 while two free throws in the final three minutes brought Florida State to within six with 1:08 left in the game…totaled zero points, zero rebounds and one assist in the Seminoles’ 62-59 win over Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament…the win sent Florida State to the ACC Tournament championship game where they defeated North Carolina for the first championship in school history…earned his only assist of the game on a Jon Kreft lay-up which gave the Seminoles a 13-11 lead with 11:16 left before the intermission…basket proved big as it broke a tie and helped the Seminoles rake a 33-31 halftime lead…was on the court at the end of the game for his ball handling skills and free throw shooting prowess which helped the Seminoles close out the Devils and gain the first postseason win over Duke in school history…(vs. Georgia Tech): Scored two points and added one steal in Florida State’s only game of the season against Georgia Tech…earned 14 minutes of playing time as Florida State defeated the Yellow Jackets, 68-54, in Tallahassee (Feb. 1)…two points came on a jumper with 19 seconds left in the first half to bring Florida State to within one at 25-24 at the intermission…it was his steal that began Florida State’s final possession of the first half that led to the Seminoles’ final basket of the half…Florida State outscored the Yellow Jackets, 44-29, in the second half to gain the win and raise its record to 15-6 overall and 6-1 in the ACC…(vs. Maryland): Scored zero points but added one assist and one rebound in Florida State’s only game of the season against Maryland…the Seminoles led virtually the entire game and pulled away to win, 84-70, in Tallahassee (Jan. 17)… totaled 14 minutes of playing time as the Seminoles won third ACC game of the season…his second half assist on a lay-up by Ian Miller gave Florida State a 63-50 advantage with 10:07 left in the game…the Seminoles led by as many as 21 in the game and trailed for a total of seven seconds early in the second half…(vs. Miami): Averaged 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in three games against NIT participant Miami…the Seminoles and the Hurricanes split the regular season series with both teams winning at home and the Seminoles defeated Miami in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournaments – their first step on their way to the first ACC Championship in school history…totaled zero points and one rebound in 10 minutes of playing time in the Seminoles’ 64-59 win in Tallahassee (Feb. 11)…helped the Seminoles outscore the Hurricanes in both halves to gain the win and improve to 8-2 in ACC play…scored four points in 15 minutes of playing time as Florida State traveled to play at Miami…the Hurricanes won, 78-62, in Coral Gables (Feb. 26)…all four points came in the second half as the Seminoles worked to get back in the game after trailing at the half 24-20…totaled one rebound and one assist in the Seminoles’ 82-71 win over Miami in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament in Philips Arena (March 9)…the Seminoles’ win over the Hurricanes sent Florida State to the ACC Tournament semifinals…(vs. North Carolina): Averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 rebound in two games against NCAA Tournament participant North Carolina…the Seminoles defeated the Tar Heels once during the regular season and in the ACC Tournament championship game to mark the first time the Seminoles had defeated North Carolina twice in one season…the Tar Heels were ranked in the top five in the nation in both wins by the Seminoles No. 3 during the regular season and No. 4 during the ACC Tournament…totaled five points and two rebounds in the Seminoles’ incredible 90-57 win over No. 3 North Carolina in Tallahassee (Jan. 14)…the Seminoles’ +33 point margin was the largest margin of victory ever over the Tar Heels and the largest ever over a ranked team in school history…two points in the first half and three in the second as Florida State amazed everyone in attendance and everyone nationally in the game broadcast by ESPN…two first half points on a jumper at the 11:00 minute mark gave Florida State a commanding 21-11 lead on its way to a 36-28 halftime lead…a second half 3-point shot extended the Seminoles’ lead to 63-36 with 11:41 left to play…Florida State never trailed and led by as many as 33 points in the overwhelming win…scored zero points in five minutes of playing time as Florida State topped North Carolina, 85-82, to win the ACC Tournament Championship at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga. (March 11)…helped the Seminoles take a 49-40 advantage at halftime, lead by as many as 16 and hold on to win the first ACC Championship in school history…(vs. NC State): Totaled four points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in Florida State’s only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant NC State…shot the ball well from the field as he made two of three field goal attempts against the Wolfpack as Florida State won, 76-62, in Raleigh (Feb. 18)…all four points came in the first half and helped Florida State take a 37-26 halftime lead…the Seminoles scored the first basket of the game on a tip-in by Xavier Gibson and never trailed…directly responsible for seven points in the second half on two made field goals and an assist on a 3-point shot by Deividas Dulkys…a lay-up at the 5:29 mark gave Florida State a 28-22 lead with 5:29 left before halftime while a second lay-up with 2:06 left in the half gave Florida State a commanding 34-24 lead…(vs. Virginia): Averaged 4.0 points, 1.5 assists and 1.0 rebound in two games against NCAA Tournament participant Virginia…was nearly perfect shooting the ball from both the field (three of four, .750 percent) and the free throw line (two of two, 1.000 percent) in the two game regular season series sweep of the Cavaliers which saw Florida State win in both Tallahassee and Charlottesville…averaged 14.5 minutes played in the two games against the Cavaliers…a complete game of four points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 14 minutes of playing time in the Seminoles’ 58-55 win over the Cavaliers in Tallahassee (Feb. 4)…was a perfect two of two from the free throw line in the win…all four points and both of his assists came in the second half as he was responsible for eight second half points in helping the Seminoles outscore the Cavaliers in the second half…a lay-up with 7:31 remaining in the game gave the Seminoles a 44-31 lead while two free throws with seven seconds remaining in the game sealed the win for Florida State…his two free throws gave Florida State an insurmountable 58-52 (+six point) lead…Virginia received a 3-point shot by Malcolm Brogdon that brought the Cavaliers to within three at 58-55 and allowed the Seminoles to earn their seventh ACC win of the season in eight conference games…scored four points and added one assist in 15 minutes of playing time as Florida State pulled off one of the more miraculous wins of the 2011-12 season with a come-from-behind win, 63-60, in Charlottesville (March 1)…the Seminoles utilized a 16-2 run to close the game and earn the ACC win on the road to win its 11th ACC win of the season…all four points on two of two shooting from the field in the first half to help the Seminoles to a 29-20 halftime advantage…a lay-up tied the game at 9-9 at the 12:02 mark while a jumper at the 2:57 mark gave the Seminoles a 24-17 lead…also added a second half assist on a 3-point shot by Ian Miller to pull the Seminoles back to within one (45-44) with 8:20 left in the game…Florida State won the game on another incredible game-winning 3-point shot with 0:08 seconds remaining in the game to take the win back to Tallahassee…(vs. Virginia Tech): Averaged 4.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in two games against NIT participant Virginia Tech…shot the ball well against the Hokies as he made four of six shots from the field (.667 percent) and one of two shots from the bonusphere (.500 percent) as the Seminoles took both games of the regular season series in both Blacksburg and Tallahassee…helped begin Florida State’s roll to a 12-4 regular season ACC record and the ACC Championship with four points and two rebounds in 12 minutes of play as the Seminoles defeated the Hokies, 63-59, in Blacksburg (Jan. 10)…the Seminoles scored the first two points of the game on a 3-pointer by Michael Snaer and never trailed in winning their first ACC game of the season…was a perfect two of two from the field in scoring two points in both halves during the win…a first half lay-up gave Florida State a 12-4 lead with 13:27 remaining before halftime…his basket allowed the Seminoles to take a 30-21 lead in to the locker room at halftime…his second half bucket as came on a lay-up at the 7:44 mark to put Florida State up 50-43…both baskets loomed large as Virginia Tech fought back and brought their deficit back to two with 1:03 left in the game…a strong performance of five points, four rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes of playing time as the Seminoles once again pulled off an incredible come from behind win to defeat the Hokies, 48-47, in Tallahassee (Feb. 16)…the Seminoles rallied from 15 down (40-25) with 14:09 left remaining in the game to earn the improbable win at home an increase their ACC win total to nine with a 9-2 record…did his best work of the season in the second half of the game with all five of his points and both of his assists during the comeback…three points, one rebound and two assists led directly to 11 points in the final 1:21 of the game for the win…a 3-point shot with 1:13 remaining in the game brought Florida State to within six a 46-40…he then pulled down an offensive rebound after a missed 3-point shot by Ian Miller, passed the ball to Deividas Dulkys who fed Okaro White for a lay-up with 56 seconds remaining to pull Florida State to within four at 46-42…he was then credited with an assist on a 3-point shot by Ian Miller than drew Florida State to within 47-45 with 45 seconds remaining…he then helped Florida State make history as he found Michael Snaer on the right wing for a game winning, buzzer beating 3-point shot with 2.4 seconds remaining to give Florida State the incredible, dramatic 48-47 win…the Seminoles outscored the Hokies, 11-3, in the final 5:01 to win the game…(vs. Wake Forest): Scored four points, pulled down two rebounds and was credited with his ACC career high of six assists in the Seminoles only game of the season against Wake Forest…his career high of seven assists came in the Seminoles’ win over Stetson (Nov. 16)…Florida State ran away from the Demon Deacons, 75-52, in Winston-Salem (Jan. 25)…played his Florida State career high of 25 minutes in the win…three assists in both halves helped Florida State take a 29-23 halftime lead and pull away to win on the road…(vs. Florida): Scored two points, pulled down two rebounds and was credited with two assists in eight minutes of play in the Seminoles’ only game of the season against NCAA Tournament participant Florida…two points on a first half lay-up to bring the Seminoles to within 14-10 at the 9:13 mark of the first half and two first half assists helped Florida State pull to within eight at halftime after trailing by as many as 12 in the first half…(in three games during the Battle for Atlantis): Averaged 2.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three games during the inaugural Battle4Atlanis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas…averaged 20 minutes played per game as Florida State played in the first -time event which is sure to become one of the top events in all of college basketball…(vs. UMass): Scored three points and pulled down three rebounds in the Seminoles’ 73-53 win over NIT participant UMass in the first round of the Battle4Atlantis (Nov. 24)…earned 23 minutes of playing time in the win over the Minutemen…a second half free throw shot at the 9:25 mark gave the Seminoles a 55-39 advantage while a second half lay-up increased Florida State’s lead to 63-45 with 5:57 left…two rebounds in the first half allowed Florida State to take a commanding 36-25 halftime lead…(vs. Harvard): Totaled zero points and two rebounds in Florida State’s 46-41 loss – a defensive struggle – against NCAA Tournament participant Harvard in the second round of the Battle4Atlantis…two first half rebounds as the Seminoles and the Crimson played to a 14-14 tie at halftime…Harvard got the better of the Seminoles in the second half, outscoring the Garnet and Gold by a 32-27 margin…(vs. UConn): Totaled five points, four assists and one rebound in 24 minutes of play as Florida State fell in overtime to NCAA Tournament participant UConn…the Huskies were ranked No. 4 nationally at the time of the game…a first half 3-point shot gave the Seminoles a 12-10 lead with 11:58 remaining before halftime…an assist on a dunk by Michael Snaer at the 10:13 mark pulled Florida State back to within one at 15:14 and a second assist in the first half helped the Seminoles close in on the Huskies with 1:23 left before the half at and made the score 35-28…the Huskies led, 37-30, at halftime…two points and two assists for five points in the second half helped Florida State pull into a tie and force overtime…with Florida State down by nine with 11:12 remaining in the game, Peterson scored on a lay-up to make the score 56-49 – his basket began a 24-15 run to end regulation that allowed the Seminoles to tie the game at 71-71…UConn outscored the Seminoles, 7-5, in overtime to win the game 77-76 (Nov. 26)…(in three games during the ACC Tournament): Averaged 0.0 points and 0.3 rebounds in three games during the ACC Tournament…helped the Seminoles defeat Miami in the quarterfinals, No. 6 Duke in the semifinals and No. 4 North Carolina in the championship game to help Florida State earn the first ACC Championship in school history…Florida State became only the third team in ACC history to win the ACC Championship with victories over Duke and North Carolina in the semifinals and finals…(in two games during the NCAA Tournament): Averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in two games during the Seminoles’ school record fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance…the Seminoles appearance in the NCAA Tournament was the first postseason appearance of any kind for Peterson during his collegiate career…Florida State, the No. 3 seed in the East Region, played No. 14 seed St. Bonaventure in the second round and No. 6 seeded Cincinnati in the third round…Peterson pulled down four rebounds in the two games, was a perfect 2 of 2 (1.000 percent) from the free throw line, had three assists against zero turnovers and erne done steal in 24 total minutes of playing time…the two games were played at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn…(vs. St. Bonaventure): Scored zero points but pulled down two rebounds and was credited with two assists in the Seminoles’ 63-60 come-from-behind victory over the Bonnies in their first game of the tournament…his two assists led directly to five second half points on a 3-point shot by Deividas Dulkys and lay-up by Bernard James as Florida State rallied from as many as 10 points down and a 34-28 disadvantage at halftime…his assist to Dulkys at the 17:10 mark brought the Seminoles within six points at 41-35 while his assist on James’s basket brought the Seminoles to within six at 43-37…James was fouled on the play, made the free throw, and cut the deficit to five – the closest the Seminoles had been since the midway through the second half…Peterson’s assist on Dulkys’ 3-point basket began a 31-22 game ending run that lifted the Seminoles to the win and advanced them to the second round for the second consecutive season…Florida State did not take its first lead of the game until there was 5:18 left in the games on a 3-pointg shot by Ian Miller…(vs. Cincinnati): Totaled four points and two rebounds to go along with one assist and one steal against Cincinnati in the third round of the NCAA Tournament…the Bearcats took the 62-56 win (March 18) to advance to the Sweet 16…totaled all four of his points in the first half to pace the Seminoles to a 26-25 lead at the intermission…a jumper at the 12:23 mark pulled Florida State to within 11-10 while two free throws at the 11:15 mark gave the Seminoles a 12-11 advantage…scored all four of his points in the span of 1:08…Cincinnati won the see saw battle that saw 11 tied and 19 lead changes…
