I’m wearing No. 25 at Florida State because that was the number my head coach gave me in high school and I’ve worn it ever since. I wore the number in each of my four years on the varsity team.
Hugh Durham, one of the greatest players (and coaches) in Florida State history wore No. 25 during his playing career (1957-59) as a Seminole. He is ranked 18th in school history as he scored 1,381 points and ninth in school history with an 18.9 points per game scoring average. As Florida State’s head coach, he led the Seminoles to three NCAA Tournament appearances including the 1972 NCAA Final Four.
My full name is John Robert Horner. I was named after my grandfather who is also named John Robert.
I’m from Ventnor City, N.J. The best way to describe my hometown is as a tiny beach town in South Jersey right next to Atlantic City.
