The junior transfer from Lipscomb University was a fixture in the Noles’ top five throughout the cross country season as FSU, helping FSU return to the NCAA Championships…was the 2017 ASUN Conference Freshman of the Year, earning first-team All-ASUN honors in cross country and on the track in 2017 and 2018…won Washington 2A state cross country and 3200m titles as a high school senior.

2019-20

Cross Country: Competed in six meets…placed sixth overall in his FSU debut at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational, covering the 8k course in 24:55.6…was fifth on the team and 77th overall at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational with a five-mile time of 24:30.29…turned in his strongest showing at the Under Armour Pre-Nationals, pacing a strong chase back at the No. 3 runner with a 59th-place finish in 24:30.5 as the Noles finished sixth…was FSU’s fourth finisher at the ACC Championships, placing 39th in 25:18.0…was No.5 runner for the Noles at the NCAA South Region meet at home, placing 35th in 31:26.1 over 10k…was the fourth finisher on the squad in his NCAA Championships debut. Indoor: Competed in three meets and established new personal-bests in both the 3000- and 5000-meter runs…opened with an 8:23.01 3000m at the Indiana Relays, paring 14 seconds off his previous best…followed up by running 14:07.93 to place 10th at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational; the No. 6 time in program history…doubled at the ACC Championships in those events, highlighted by an 11th-place finish in the 5000.

Joins the Noles after a decorated two-year career at Lipscomb…posted a pair of seventh-place finishes at the ASUN cross country championships and scored at the conference championship meet on the track – twice indoors and once outdoors – in five events…finished 38th at the 2018 NCAA South Region Championships contested at FSU; a one spot improvement over his freshman year…owns collegiate personal-bests of 30:28.78 (10,000), 14:42.03 (5000) and 8:37.25 (3000, indoors)…starred at Ridgefield High in Washington, claiming the 2A state cross country title as a senior and following up by winning the 3200 crown on the track…had high school PBs of 4:18.50 (1600) and 9:23.00 (3200)…honor roll student at Lipscomb, had one of the nation’s top cross country team GPAs each of the past two years…planning to major in social work at FSU…is the son of Julia Griffith…born April 23, 1999.
