Had a breakout season in 2017, earning NFCA Southeast All-Region Third Team honors, as well as being selected to the All-ACC First Team for the second year in a row…posted a record of 27-3, with a 1.50 ERA including wins over No. 1 Florida and No. 9 Arizona…earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors (May 2) and helped the Noles post a perfect 24-0 record in conference play to become just the third Power 5 school to have an undefeated season in conference…finished the year with three saves, including one against No. 6 UCLA, giving her five for her career which ranks eighth-most in FSU history…recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts against Furman in her first appearance of the season on February 10…tossed a complete-game shutout against Marshall on February 11, scattering seven hits and posting four strikeouts…pitched 2.1 innings of relief, giving up one hit, zero runs with two strikeouts to earn the win against Marshall on February 12…allowed two unearned runs against Northwestern on February 17, scattering six hits and posting five strikeouts…earned the win against Nebraska on February 18, pitching 4.0 innings, giving up two hits, zero runs or walks and posting one strikeout…struck out six batters in 6.0 innings in a 8-2 win over Stanford on February 23…tossed 6.2 shutout innings against No. 9 Arizona on February 25, giving up five hits and three walks with three strikeouts…earned her first save of the season, and third of her career, against No. 6 UCLA, closing out the final 2.1 innings without giving up a run in FSU’s 2-1 win…allowed two hits and posted five strikeouts in 4.1 shutout innings in a win against Georgia Tech on March 4…needed only 39 pitches to earn the win against North Florida on March 8, tossing 4.0 shutout innings with two strikeouts and allowing three hits and zero walks…tossed 5.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts at Virginia Tech in game one of a DH on March 10…improved to 10-0 on the season on March 11, giving up two runs on six hits in 4.1 innings at VT…pitched 3.0 scoreless innings on March 15 at FGCU, giving up a walk and two hits, along with a strikeout…earned a complete-game victory on March 17 in a shutout against Notre Dame, giving up just three hits and zero walks, with four strikeouts…allowed just two hits and zero walks, while recording three strikeouts in 5.0 shutout innings, in a win at UCF on March 22…improved to 15-0 on the season with a win at Virginia on March 25, giving up five hits over five shutout innings with three strikeouts…scattered six hits and four runs (two earned) with four strikeouts in a win against Pitt on April 1…faced just five batters but recorded six outs on April 2 against Pitt, using four pitches in her first inning of relief to record a strikeout and a double play in the fifth inning and then retired all three batters she faced in the sixth…allowed just two hits and retired the last 16 batters she faced in a complete-game victory at Troy on April 18…gave up just one walk over 3.2 innings of relief on April 24 as FSU scored in the seventh to beat Louisville 5-4…tossed a one-hitter against North Carolina on April 28, striking out eight and allowing two walks…surrendered just one unearned run and two hits in a victory over UNC on April 29, striking out three…pitched 6.2 scoreless innings of relief against No. 1 Florida on May 3, surrendering just two hits and a walk, while striking out three as FSU earned a 3-1 win in 11 innings…pitched a complete-game two hitter against Notre Dame in the ACC Championship semifinals (5/12)…earned her second save of the season against North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game (5/13)…pitched a scoreless seventh inning against Princeton on May 19 to earn her third save of the year…posted eight strikeouts in a win over No. 25 Georgia in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, allowing just one unearned run over 6.2 innings…allowed just four hits and an unearned run in a complete game against no. 18 LSU in the NCAA Super Regional.
Key member of the pitching staff, posting a 25-5 record on the season, including ranked wins over No. 3 Auburn, No. 20 Minnesota, No. 20 Notre Dame and No. 25 Utah…her 25 victories ranked 16th in the NCAA…tossed FSU’s first perfect game since 2004, retiring all 18 batters faced against Tulsa on March 12. She struck out five and did not allow a ball to leave the infield until the sixth inning…Tulsa went on to win its conference tournament (AAC) and King became the seventh pitcher since 2005 to record a perfect game against a team that went on to win its conference tournament…finished with a 2.30 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 200.2 innings as opponents batted just .247 against her on the season…pitched 19 complete games, including seven shutouts…the seven shutouts ranked No. 2 in the ACC and No. 20 in the NCAA…recorded two saves on the season, closing out wins over No. 13 UCLA and No. 25 Utah…faced four or fewer batters in 143 of her 200.2 innings pitched, including 71 perfect 1-2-3 innings…earned the complete game victory in her first career appearance as a Seminole, tossing 7.0 innings with four hits, two unearned runs, one walk and six strikeouts against St. John’s on Feb. 12…did not allow a walk or a run in 3.0 innings to earn the win against LIU Brooklyn on Feb 13…closed out the game against Illinois, giving up a run, a walk and two hits in 2.0 innings against the Illini…struck out four in 1.2 innings against Stephen F. Austin on February 17…tossed a complete-game shutout against No. 20 Minnesota on Feb. 21…struck out five in 4.1 innings pitched against UAB on February 27…pitched a complete game against Syracuse (Mar. 19) while allowing one run on two hits with six strikeouts…pitched a complete game shutout with three strikeouts against Boston College on April 16…tossed a complete game in a road victory at No. 3 Auburn on April 20, allowing three runs, three walks with three strikeouts…threw a complete game allowing three hits and one run against Virginia Tech on April 23…capped off the game at Pitt on April 30, tossing the final 1.0 inning and retiring all three batters faced…recorded a career-high eight strikeouts on May 1 at Pitt in a complete-game victory over the Panthers…earned the win in all three games of the 2016 ACC Championships, taking down Pitt, North Carolina and Notre Dame, giving up just four runs in 17.0 innings…clinched the NCAA Regional championship against South Carolina on May 22 with a complete game victory, giving up just one run and zero walks with three strikeouts…earned her second save of the season against Utah in game one of the Super Regional against No. 25 Utah (5/27), entering with the bases loaded and closing out the 6-2 victory…sent the Seminoles to the Women’s College World Series with a complete-game shutout – her seventh of the season – against Utah on May 28, needing just 72 pitches and scattering four hits with one walk and four strikeouts…pitched 5.0 innings of relief against No. 15 Georgia in the opening game of the WCWS on June 2, allowing four hits and one unearned run with one walk and five strikeouts.
Redshirted her freshman season…competed with the Puerto Rico Junior and Full National Team during the summer and placed third at the 2015 WSBC Junior World Championships, setting a tournament record with 60.2 innings pitched and finishing with a 6-3 record and a 0.57 ERA.
Led St. Thomas Aquinas to back to back FHSAA Class 7A State Championships in 2013 and 2014…posted a 20-2 record in 2014, along with a 0.25 ERA, 226 strikeouts against just 19 walks to earn Gatorade Florida Softball Player of the Year honors…recorded 15 shutouts and three no-hitters, including one perfect game, during the 2014 season en route to being named a MaxPreps First Team All-American…played for the Gold Coast Hurricanes and finished 13th at the 2013 ASA Nationals with 18u Gold Norman and placed third with 18u Gold Cooper at the 2014 Triple Crown Sports Colorado Fireworks Tournament…named the Florida Dairy Farmers 7A Player of the Year in 2014…First Team All-American by MaxPreps and Student Sports…Runner-up to teammate Korina Rosario for the 2014 Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Softball Award…earned Miracle Sports 7A All-State First Team honors in 2013-14 and named to the Third Team in 2012…member of 2014 Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Team…named to the Miami Herald All Broward 8A-6A Softball First Team, as well as their Pitcher of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, while garnering Second Team accolades in 2011 and 2012…awarded SunSentinel All-County First Team honors in 2013-14 and Player of the Year in 2014.
