Finished his career by competing at his fourth-straight NCAA Championships…placed  eighth in the 200 IM at the ACC Championships after swimming a personal best in prelims at 1:44.03…was 11th in the 100 breast  (53.61) and 13th in the 200 breast  (1:57.09)…earned the ACC Male Swimmer of the Week following his performance at the UGA Fall Invite…helped the Seminoles to a second place finish in the 200 medley relay…indivudally placed fourth in the 100 breast (52.71) before taking second in the 200 breast (1:55.27)…selected as the Golden Nole winner for the 2016-17 season for men’s swimming.


Placed 18th in both the 100 and 200 breast events at the NCAA Championships…placed fourth in the 200 breast with a time of 1:54.95 at the ACC Championships…added a fifth place showing in the 100 breast after taking 11th in the 200 IM…ranked fifth in the country in the 100  breast (52.37) in the 100 breast after the mid-season Georgia Invite where he placed second in the event…won the 100 breast against No. 3 Florida and No. 7 Louisville…was also seventh in the 200 breast (1:58.52) and ninth in the 200 IM (1:45.29)…swam a time trial at the end of the meet where he qualified for US Olympic Trials in the 100 breast…won the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM against Florida Southern…was first in the 100 breast against Minnesota…awarded the ACC Top 6 for Service at the 2015-16 Golden Nole.


Swam three career best times at the 2015 NCAA Championships…placed ninth in the 100 breast with a new FSU record of 52.11 capturing All-America honorable mention accolades…set a new school record in the 200 breast of 1:54.30 and also went his personal best in the 200 IM at 1:44.97…finished fourth in his first ACC Championship final in the 100 breast with a final time of 53.17 after swimming a career best in prelims of 52.97 which lowered his FSU record…was eighth in the 200 breast and won the B final of the 200 Im with a personal best of 1:45.55…contributed to the 200 and 400 medley relays in addition to the 200 free relay…earned the Breakthrough Perfomance Award at the end of the year awards banquet.


Was invited to the NCAA Championships by ways of the 100 and 200 breast events…placed ninth in the consolation final of the 100 breast at the ACC Championships with a new FSU record of 53.09…won the consolation final of the 200 breast and placed ninth with a time of 1:55.81…placed 10th in the 200 IM…swam a career best time in the 200 IM at NCAA’s with a 1:46.09…was named the freshman of the year at the end of the year awards banquet.

High School: 

A three-year MVP for Hagerty High School…a three-time all-state selection….a two-time state champion in the 100 breast in 2010 and 2011…a member of the 400 free relay that took the state title in 2010.


Born February 20, 1995…son of Scott and Sandra Coombs…played a year of water polo…a member of the Blue Dolphins where he is coached by Charlie Rose…also plays the piano.
