Outdoor: Finished third in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a jump of 7.97m to earn First-Team All-America honors…Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the long jump with a mark of 7.71m at the NCAA East Preliminary…Took home his second-straight ACC title in the long jump with a mark of 8.05m…Had a mark of 7.72m in the long jump to finish fourth at the UNF Invitational…Finished in first place in Long Jump (7.92m) at UF Tom Jones Memorial Invitational
Indoor: Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships but did not compete due to an injury suffered in warmups…Earned First Team All-ACC honors with a second place finish in the long jump (7.91m) with an NCAA Qualifying performance at the ACC Championships… Competed in the long jump (7.57m) at the Tyson Invitational.
Indoor: Started indoor season strong at the Gamecock Opener winning first in both the LJ (8.18m) and TJ (15.18m)…first in the LJ (8.33m) at the Tyson Invitational…at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships became Long Jump ACC Champion (7.94m)…qualified for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships and was runner-up in the LJ with a new personal best jump of 8.35m.
Outdoor: In his first outdoor meet he took first in the LJ (7.94m) at Pepsi Florida Relays…at UF Tom Jones Invitational he won the LJ (7.91m) and earned a new 100 PB of 10.55 (1.6)…won the North Florida Invite LJ (8.07m)…became LJ ACC Champion with a jump of 7.75m at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships…qualified for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round finishing third (8.02m)…advanced to the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships and was runner-up in the LJ (8.05m).
Indoor: Banner first season for the Noles included three long jump victories and three ACC Field Performer of the Week honors…was an NCAA Championship qualifier on the strength of his 8.00-meter (26-3) winning performance at the Texas Tech Invitational; a mark that ranked sixth nationally on the season and places his fourth on FSU’s all-time list…contributed 13 points to the Noles’ ACC Championship cause, placing second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump….jumped 7.90m or better in four of five meets, also winning the Orange & Purple Invitational and Vanderbilt Invitational team titles.
Still coming into his own as an elite jumper…sat out his freshman year (2016-17) at Chadron State…as a redshirt freshman finished sixth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in the long jump and improved to a fifth-place finish at the Outdoor Championships…had a monster 2019 indoor season, finishing second at the DII Championships in the triple jump with a PB (15.75m/51-8.25) and winning the long jump crown (7.84m/25-8.75)…at the 2019 DII Outdoor Championships turned in an all-conditions lifetime-best in the long jump (8.08m -w/26-6.25) to finish second…also owns a 60-meter dash PB of 6.76…his development has accelerated from high school…finished 10th at the 2016 CIF State Track & Field Championships as a senior at Rancho Verde…owned modest personal-bests of 6.40m in the long jump and 14.57m in the triple jump…comparatively, he excelled in the 110-meter hurdles (15.12) and the high jump (1.98m/6-6)…the son of Cristal Grimes…is pursuing an FSU degree in sport management…born Feb. 7, 1998.
