Cross Country: Raced his way into competitive form through the first three meets of the season…had a breakthrough at the FSU Invitational, placing 11th overall in the field of 212 with an 8k personal-best time of 25:10.3, which earned him ACC Performer of the Week honors…placed 65th in his ACC Championships debut…came back two weeks later to finish 29th – four spots off All-Region honors – at the South Regional Championships in a 10k personal best of 31:16.6, good for third on the team…was the No. 6 finisher among Noles at the NCAA Championships. Indoor: Saw action in two meets, competing in the 3000m…opened up with a personal-best of 8:20.69 at the Indiana Relays…also competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Cross Country: missed the season due to injury. Indoor: saw action in two meets…ran 4:13.60 mile at the Bob Pollock Invitational…followed by running 8:44.32 3000 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Outdoor: posted a 1500m PB (3:51.02) in a third-place finish at the FSU Relays…turned in his finest performance in the 5000 at the Raleigh Relays (14:20.15)…competed in the 1500 and 5000 at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
Is the first Kiwi distance runner to join the program in coach Bob Braman’s 19 seasons…in addition to cross country background, has been quite successful on the road and track…2016 Auckland Secondary Schools Road Race champion…also won the 2016 Auckland Club U18 cross country title…ran 31:01 10k on the road in June, prior to arriving in Tallahassee in the summer…finished eighth in the 5000m at the 2017 New Zealand National Championships…owns an impressive 3000m PB of 8:26.64 and has a 1500m PB of 3:53.56…helped lead Sacred Heart College to a pair of New Zealand Secondary Schools team titles, captaining the 2017 championship team…also led team to a spot in the 2016 World Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships in Budapest, Hungary…the son of Michelle and Paul Holmes…majoring in finance at FSU…born April 5, 1999.
