A two-time, first-team All-American on the track and a cross country veteran, was the Noles’ top runner in his grad transfer cross country season…earned a pair of ACC Performer of the Week honors in the fall…was sixth in the 1500 at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships and fifth in the mile at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Cross Country: Won his FSU debut at the Covered Bridge Open, covering the 8k course in 24:58.48 to earn ACC Performer of the Week honors…finished second to All-American Peter Seufer at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational over 8K in 24:30.4…posted a five-mile personal-best (23:46.04) at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, placing 19th in a deep field…locked down his second ACC Performer of the Week honor with a 15th-place finish at the Under Armour Pre-Nationals in an 8k time of 23:47.3…bounced back from an early-race fall at the ACC Championships to earn All-ACC honors with a 13th-place finish…was No. 4 man at the South Region meet, finishing 34th and closed the year by finishing second on the squad at the NCAA Championships. Indoor: Placed third in the mile at the ACC Championships, contributing to the Noles’ team title…recorded the No. 2 mile time in program history when he ran 3:59.00 for fifth at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational…that time ranked 25th nationally at the conclusion of the season…was a top-five finisher in all five of his mile races….began the year by anchoring FSU’s No. 4 DMR of all-time (9:40.80) to victory at the Bob Pollock Invitational…did not compete in 2020 Outdoor Track due to COVID-19
Enjoyed a remarkable career at Southern Utah, highlighted by impressive PBs of 3:58.54 (mile), 3:41.69 (1500) – a school record – as well as 7:54.85 (3000, indoor) and 13:50.08 (5000)…multi-time Big Sky conference champion on the track and all-conference selection…an accomplished racer, he has collected 22 victories on the track as a collegian…enjoyed his finest cross country season in 2017 was he was sixth at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, 21st at the NCAA Mountain Region and 82nd at the NCAA Championships…has full year of eligibility after redshirting the 2018 cross country and outdoor track seasons, and the 2016 indoor season…is the third SUU student-athlete to transfer to FSU, following former teammates Istvan Szogi and Ibrahim Ahmed…as a high school senior at Immanuel was the California state runner-up in cross country and on the track in the 1600…an exceptional student, he was a nine-time Big Sky All-Academic and three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection…earned his undergrad degree from SUU in exercise science…pursuing his master’s degree in sport management at FSU…he is the son of Mike and Kristi Knevelbaard…born Sept. 2, 1996.
