Continued to be one of the top players in the conference and the nation as a junior, starting all 29 matches and playing in all 105 sets…ranked fourth in the nation with 1.52 blocks per set as Florida State was second in the NCAA with 2.96 blocks per set…became the first non-libero to be named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year…led the team and ranked fifth in the ACC with a .362 hitting percentage, along with 202 kills…finished with 160 blocks, including 25 solo blocks…ended the season ranked fifth in FSU history with 433 career assisted blocks, sixth with 510 total blocks and her 1.58 career blocks per set average is third in school history…opened the season with seven kills and five blocks against No. 5 Wisconsin…totaled seven blocks, including two solo, along with two kills and a dig in a straight-set win over No. 3 Minnesota on August 31…posted eight blocks and five kills against FAU…had a .455 hitting percentage on six kills and one error versus Colorado State…tallied five kills and six blocks in a straight set win on the road at TCU (September 8)…recorded seven kills and nine blocks in just three sets against Stony Brook…had seven kills and four blocks on the road at No. 11 Florida…opened ACC play with eight kills and six blocks in a road victory at Duke on September 27…finished with six blocks and five kills against No. 4 Pitt at home on October 6…recorded a season-high 12 kills, along with three solo blocks and three assisted blocks, on October 13 at North Carolina…recorded 10 blocks in just three sets against Syracuse, along with six kills, on October 20…used 12 kills and five blocks to lead the Noles to victory on the road at Clemson on October 27…finished with eight kills and eight blocks on October 30 against Miami…had multiple solo blocks in four consecutive matches against Notre Dame, Louisville, No. 2 Pitt and Duke…tallied 11 kills and six blocks on December 5 against UCF in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Excelled in her second season in the Garnet and Gold as she earned AVCA All-American honorable mention honors after leading the team with 188 blocks, which ranked third in the NCAA…also led the team with a .351 hitting percentage and 264 kills as she earned All-ACC First Team honors and was named to the AVCA All-East Region Team…started the season with eight kills and three blocks on the road at No. 4 Minnesota (August 24)…posted five kills, zero errors, two digs and six blocks against No. 9 Wisconsin on August 25…set a career high with 18 kills against Cincinnati on September 2 and added six blocks…recorded 10 kills against Florida at home on September 12…had a double-double with 13 kills and 10 blocks on the road at Auburn on September 16…tallied 10 kills with zero errors in a three-set win at Virginia (Sept. 28)…had 12 kills and four blocks at Pitt on September 30…earned 14 kills and eight blocks in a five-set victory on the road at Syracuse on October 14…finished with 14 kills and seven blocks at Miami (October 24)…recorded 10 blocks in back-to-back matches at Notre Dame (November 2) and at Louisville (November 4)…tied a career high with 12 blocks in the regular season finale at NC State on November 23.
Knuth saw one of the most successful freshman campaigns in Florida State history in her rookie season, picking up nine accolades in one season … She became the second Seminole in program history to be named the AVCA East Region freshman of the Year, and the third to earn the ACC Freshman of the Year award … first in FSU history to be named to the VolleyballMag.com All-Freshman Team … She set the record for most assisted blocks by a freshman at FSU with 140, passing Gabrielle Reece’s 132 … Her .319 career hitting percentage ranks 12th all-time (tied with Karyn Palgut) and 8th in the rally scoring era … Her 1.49 career blocks per set ranks third all-time and is the most seen in the rally scoring era … Her 140 assisted blocks in 2017 ranks 11th all-time and 8th in the rally scoring era, while her 1.49 blocks per set in 2017 ranks 10th all-time … Her 162 total blocks ranks third among FSU’s freshmen, and her 1.49 blocks per set ranks second … Her 1.62 blocks per set (career) and 103 assisted blocks (season) in ACC play currently hold the program records
She started off her career with an errorless performance against Baylor (8/25), hitting .600 with nine kills on 15 attacks … Saw ten blocks (two solo) the next day against Illinois State (8/26) … Saw her first double-digit kill outing the same day against UC Santa Barbara … Saw six errorless offensive performances over the season … Picked up 11 total blocks against Notre Dame (10/1) … Tied her season high with 13 kills against NC State (10/29) … Set records with 13 blocks (one solo) against Clemson (11/22) … Her 12 assisted blocks against Clemson (11/22) ranks fifth in program history (tied with five others), and ranks second in FSU’s ACC matches (tied with two others) … Set a number of season-high records in her first NCAA Tournament appearance, picking up 16 kills on 33 attacks (.424) and adding on six digs and four blocks against Washington State in the first round (12/1).
