Junior battling back to form after long 2012-13 school year marred by injury…was in FSU’s lineup for 2011 NCAA Championships meet and followed with outstanding track season in 2012.
2012: Competed in four meets last fall for the `Noles and got off to a fast start…finished 7th at Virginia Tech Invitational/Pre-ACC (21:48.44, 6k)…came back at Notre Dame Invitational with 17:19 (5k), then ran 21:30.6 (6k) at Pre-Nationals in Louisville…was shut down after ACC Championships meet due to injury. 2011: slow-developing transition season as a true freshman ended on a high note with a 75th-place finish (20:50.2, 6k) at NCAA Championships, which ranked fourth on the team for the fourth-place `Noles…earned NCAA All-South Region honors with 17th-place finish in a 6k personal-best of 21:05.2…placed 29th overall as FSU’s No. 7 runner at ACC Championships in 21:11.9…earned a spot in the varsity lineup with a breakthrough performance at Royal XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., where she was the first collegiate finisher in PR of 17:05.0.
2012: Missed both the outdoor and indoor seasons following surgery. 2011: Outdoor – qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 1500m on the strength of a huge PR (4:19.02) at the Bob Pollock Invitational…season also included a PR in 800m (2:09.19) at Virginia Challenge…earned All-ACC honors with 3rd-place finish at conference championship meet in the 1500…opened first collegiate outdoor season with 5000m PR at the UNF Invitational (16:42.78). Indoor – was a member of the ACC record-setting distance medley relay (11:08.7), running the 800m leg at the ACC Indoor Championships…also contributed an 8th-place finish in the mile at the conference meet…established her collegiate-best in the indoor mile at the Razorback Invitational (4:43.46).
Arguably the most decorated distance runner in Nebraska high school history, claiming nine individual state titles at Scottsbluff High between cross country (three) and track (six)…won Nebraska Gatorade Cross Country and Track & Field Athlete of the Year honors, twice each…featured in Sports Illustrated’s Faces In the Crowd…outstanding student who is majoring in exercise science and has an eye on becoming a physical therapist…four-time All-ACC Academic selection…born June 21, 1992.
