PERFORMANCE PROFILE

Third-year Seminole from Indiana is coming off her finest season at FSU season…established new personal-best marks over five different distances on the track…expected to compete for a spot on the ACC Championship roster.

 

2018-19

Cross Country: Saw action in three meets and finished in the scoring five each time…placed 12th overall at the Bobcat Invitational in a 6k-best time of 23:18.5, helping the Noles to the team win. Indoor:  made her first career indoor appearance for the Noles at the Clemson Orange & Purple Elite, placing sixth in the 3000m (PB 10:17.37)…doubled at Bob Pollock Invitational in the 3000 and mile (PB 5:12.22). Outdoor: Established new personal-bests in the 1500 and 5000…was FSU Relays runner-up in 5000 (PB 17:05.41)…scored her first collegiate victory in the 1500 (PB 4:35.24) with a big kick finish at Crimson Tide Invitational…narrowly missed another 5000 PB at Bryan Clay Invitational, but that performance in California earned her a spot in the ACC Championships lineup…made her debut in the 10,000 at the conference meet and placed 15th (PB 36:56.67).

2017-18

Cross Country: First-year Nole saw action at the FSU Invitational (20:16.0, 5k) and at the Crimson Classic (24:26.6, 6k). Indoor: Did not compete. Outdoor: Competed in five meets, lining up four times in the 5000m run…improved in each of her first three 5000 efforts, highlighted by a personal-best 18:35.80 at the North Florida Invitational…also registered a 3000m PB (11:08.62) at the Tom Jones Memorial.

Personal

Helped Avon High team to 2014 Indiana state cross country runner-up finish…boasts personal-bests of 5:10.68 (1600), 11:03.18 (3200) and 18:33 for 5k in cross country…a three-time country champion and two-time sectional champion in the 3200…was fourth in 2014 New Balance Nationals freshman 3200….awarded 10 letters in high school between cross country, track & field and swimming…outstanding student who was an AP Scholar and member of the National Honor Society…daughter of Mark and Diane Bernicke…working on a double-major in political science and public relations…born March 11, 1999.
