Formerly known as Don Veller Seminole Golf Course, the Club is the final stages of completing a comprehensive renovation of its golf facilities under the direction of the Nicklaus Design company.
The golf course was originally designed by Bill Amick and opened to the public in 1962. For years, the Club has served as the home of Florida State University’s men’s and women’s golf teams. Once complete, the renovation project will effectively position Seminole Legacy among the top collegiate golf clubs in the U.S.
The scope of the renovation includes a complete redesign of the golf course, with only one hole remaining from the original routing. All tees, fairways, rough, bunkers, greens and cart paths are new. Additionally, the old Don Veller course sat on about 210 acres, which included two driving ranges, a small short game area for the golf teams and a 7,147-yard par-73 golf course. The new golf course will be 7,800 yards and a par 72, sitting on 174 acres, including the two ranges and a new 12-hole par three course for the golf teams.
Additional amenities include the The Burr Family Renegade Grill, a state-of-the-art clubhouse, a fully stocked golf pro shop and on-site PGA-certified staff who can assist players of all ages and abilities.
Fresh off a comprehensive multi-million-dollar golf course renovation led by Nicklaus Design, Seminole Legacy Golf Club offers an unrivaled and exceptional golf experience for players of all ages and abilities.
Stretching out to 7,800 yards from the back tees, the golf course offers surprising elevation changes of up to 50 feet, and offers stunning visuals highlighted by 100-year old live oaks and stately pine trees.
The Dave Middleton Golf Center houses the SGC clubhouse and is also the location of the team’s private facilities. Florida State golfers enjoy a comfortable team room, on course workout facility and state of the art training center. The team room / facility is utilized for team meetings as a study area between classes and practices and as a lounge when the team is not on the course. It was opened in 2001.
