PERFORMANCE PROFILE

Enjoyed a record-setting debut season in the javelin for the Noles in 2018…claimed bronze medal in her first NCAA Championships appearance as a redshirt freshman…broke 28-year-old school record in her FSU debut and raised it three times…added South American U23 title in September of 2018 with PB of 55.59m (182-4)…now holds Paraguayan youth, U20 and U23 national marks in addition to South American youth record.

Indoor: Did not compete. Outdoor: Opened her collegiate career by breaking Kari Keith’s 1990 school record in the javelin at FSU with throw of 53.50m (175-6)…posted two wins and did not finish outside top three in six meets…improved on her record with an ACC Outdoor Championships victory (53.81m/176-6)…qualified fourth from the NCAA East Preliminary to advance to NCAA Championships, where her opening round throw of 55.17 meters (181-0) – one of two over 55 meters – held up for bronze while breaking her own record…along the way she was the runner-up at the Pepsi Florida Relays, finished third at Penn Relays and won the Seminole Twilight title…off the runway she earned All-ACC Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors as she continued to shine in the classroom.

Personal:

Enrolled at Florida State in January of 2017 and required to sit out year of residence…javelin bronze medalist in the 2017 South American Championships with a personal best throw of 54.86m…U23 silver medalist at the 2016 South American Championships…won gold at the South American Junior Championships in 2015…in all, owns three golds, a silver and two bronze medals in her age group at the South American Championships…represented Paraguay at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon where she was first seen by FSU throws coach Dorian Scott…outstanding athlete who has competed in both handball and swimming…enjoys working with special needs school children at home in Paraguay…daughter of Lucia Meza and Raul Paredes…majoring in international affairs at FSU…born August 30, 1996.
