Hard-working third-year member of the women’s distance program who continues to improve…starred at Tampa King High in cross country and on the track…recorded PBs over two distances last year…nursing student who excels academically.
Cross Country: Lined up in three meets for the Noles…kicked off season by running 20:09.2 to place 29th at the UAH Charger Open…came back two weeks later with a 19:45.3 at the FSU Invitational…posted a 23:38.0 6k result at the Blazer Classic.
Cross Country: Opened year with collegiate-best 18:50.7 5k effort at the Mountain Dew Invitational…placed 15th at the Bobcat Invitational with a 6k time of 23:26.0. Indoor: did not compete. Outdoor: Dropped down to focus on the 1500…was consistent in three starts at that distance…recorded her personal-best at the FAMU Relays (4:57.06).
Cross Country: Competed in three meets…shaved 18 seconds off her opening performance at the Big Bend Invitational when she ran 19:20.4 at the FSU Invitational…turned in a 22:56.7 effort in her debut 6k at the Crimson Classic. Indoor: Did not compete. Outdoor: Lined up for four 5000m races in the spring…top performance came at the North Florida Invitational (18:27.81)…also ran 10:43.17 3000m at the Tom Jones Memorial.
Made great strides in cross country and track throughout high school career, capped by 15th-place finish at state cross country meet as a senior…was 11th in the 3200 outdoors her senior year…owns personal-bests of 5:15.57 (1600), 11:19,48 (3200) and has run 18:30.80 (5k cross country)…outstanding student who graduated with International Baccalureate diploma…member of both the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society…also served as student body president…attended same high school as former FSU women’s distance standout Laura Bowerman…spent seven years as member of Entertainment Revue song and dance ensemble…daughter of Ann and Jaime Torres..majoring in nursing…born Oct. 8, 1998.
