TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida State University and Sunshine Network announced Monday that the network will produce and televise taped coverage of six FSU home football games this season which will air on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Monday mornings at 8:30 a.m.
The football replays, coupled with the networks comprehensive year-round coverage of Florida State athletics, provides FSU with exposure that rivals any Division I university in the country. For more than a decade, Sunshine Network has provided Florida State’s athletic and academic programs countless hours of exposure, which include extensive public affairs programming.
The football games selected; Duke, USC, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida, will air live on national television or in regional syndication, but will also be produced by Sunshine Network with its own announcers and production crew. The games will be broadcast statewide and in more than 4.5 million homes.
“Our contractual relationship with Sunshine Network as a priority partner affords us a very unique level of exposure and enables us to add
programming to suit our present needs in an ever changing environment,”
said Dave Hart, Director of Athletics at Florida State. “We appreciate
what Jim Liberatore and his staff do on our behalf.”
In addition to Sunshine’s football coverage, the network has a separate year-round programming agreement with the Atlantic Coast Conference and Raycom Sports, which provides even more FSU programming (such as more men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and other sports) to the network and its viewers. That agreement also provides Sunshine with the weekly “ACC Live” program, which premieres in September.
