Florida State; National Powers Headline US Collegiate Golf Championships

CHICAGO – The 1998 U.S. Collegiate Golf Championships begin Friday at
the new World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL with Saturday and Sunday
rounds televised live on ESPN.

The Collegiate will be the first event ever televised from the World Golf
Village and all 54-holes will be played on the Slammer and Squire Golf

An impressive field of 12 top college teams includes #1 ranked UNLV, #2
Oklahoma State and #4 Arizona. The top-ranked team in Japan (Nihon)
University will participate along with national powers Arizona State, Ohio
State, USC, New Mexico Texas A&M, Fresno State and Florida State.

ESPN will televise the tournament live for the third consecutive year
with coverage on Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 est and on Sunday from 12:30 –
2:30. The tournament will also be broadcast around the world via ESPN
