FSU Tennis Players Battle into Second Round at Claycourt Championships

BALTIMORE, MD — Florida State’s Michael Ingham and Yvo Niks won their
opening round matches in the pre-qualifying rounds at the ITA National
Claycourt Championships at the Suburban Club in Baltimore, MD.

Ingham, a sophomore from England, defeated DePaul’s Greg Tranquada in
three sets 7-6 (5), 0-6, 6-4 to advance. He will face MTSU’s Marshall

Niks, a junior from Holland, defeated Winthrop’s Joao Leitie in a
three-setter 7-6 (1), 2-6, 6-3 in his opening round match. He will face
ACC-rival John Winter of Virginia in his next match.

Junior Ty Braswell of Umatilla will begin his opening rounds of the
qualifying tournament later Saturday evening.
